We like how fragment design tends to change an original very little, but usually in smart ways. In their latest collaboration with Bicycle on playing cards, they just gave the cards an ‘irregular’ layout. The result is something very different from the original, yet you might not realize the difference right away.

After having seen Bape, Supreme and Original Fake collaborate with Bicycle, we present today the collaboration by Medicom. With their Bearbrick franchise they worked on a set of playing cards and a matching dice set. Look out for a release soon.

Pharrell Williams teams up with Domeau & Pérès (who produced his first design work, the “Perspective Chairs”) and Brooklyn Machine Works for an exclusive bicycle. Made out of 4130 chromemoly seamless airplane grade steel tubing, the bike was upholstered in hand-stitched water buffalo leather (which takes over 100 man hours to complete.) The bike will be produced in a limited edition of 12, with each bike coming in a unique color – the purchaser of each bike will be the only one who owns that color. Swedish footwear label Jim Rickey worked with Scandinavian bike makers Sson on a collaborative BMX cruiser. Having previously worked with Caliroots and Parra on custom cycles, Sson took their steel-framed 016 bike and outfitted it with gold and white Jim Rickey details. “Think of it as the biggest possible BMX that you have seen and one that will get you to the afterparty in no time at all. After the afterparty it’s the after afterparty somewhere, hosted by Jim Rickey.” Only 10 pieces were produced and will be sold starting October 15, 2009 through the top Jim Rickey shops in Europe and Asia.

First presented by us during the last Bread & Butter tradeshow in Barcelona, we give you some more detailed information about the Element x Krabo fixed gear bike today.
The handmade bikes come with a lugged steel track frame and accented with wood wheels and the finest leather trims. The outcome is a true beauty. The 5 bikes will be auctioned off in the near future, with benefits going to the 1% for the planet organization. We will keep you posted.

While much of the world is speeding things up, hoping on track bikes and championing the "oneness" achieved through fixed gear, Evisu slows it down. With Dutch Bicycle manufacturer Grand 1888, they’ve developed a special edition bespoke cruiser. Everything on the bike is handcrafted from the steel frame to the gold plackets on the mud guard. The bikes are all individually numbered and come with a limited selvedge constructed Evisu bike duffel.

UNIV partnered up with top industrial designer Eneri Abillar and Pepsi on the Abelasol bicycle project. Abelasol was developed for the Pepsi Street Motion in conjunction with the 16-city DUB car show tour. The Abelasol is now available for sale at a price of $7000 at the Robust Flavor online store. 
Abelasol is inspired by custom vintage Japanese cars, which in turn, are the roots of the import car scene.  With an aggressive gesture and forward design, Abelasol presents a new concept low-rider fabrication and design. Main features include: a unique pull lever hand-brake design, black chrome elements, a Porsche leather seat, Skyway wheels and other special custom details.
