Harlem rapper ASAP Rocky’s affinity for Black Scale garms has been well-documented across various videos and photoshoots, so it comes as no surprise that the San Francisco-based label has gifted the 23-year-old star with his own signature collection. Complex caught up with Black Scale’s MEGA and Alfred to learn more.

So the capsule collection was inspired by A$AP Rocky. Tell us more how he influenced the aesthetic of the collection.

Alfred: Rocky has been a fan of Black Scale since before we actually met. It just so happened that I was working the sales floor the day he decided to come in and purchase items for his video shoot for “Purple Swag.” He had a great energy and was a genuinely nice guy. The video dropped and the relationship continued to grow organically. The response was so overwhelming that it made sense to do a collabo. The design influences were taken from what the A$AP crew liked about Black Scale. I tried to integrate all the aesthetics that drew the crew to the brand, always keeping in mind that they should look good in it when they wear it.

The collection of sweats, tees and caps with be available through BLVCK SCVLE in March.

One of the highlights from Black Scale’s recent showing at the Agenda Trade Show are these boots done in collaboration with Amongst Friends for Fall 2012. These are probably one of the more handsome duck boots we’ve seen. Two will be available with each having a different finish: 1 being more polished making for a more striking boot, with the other having a duller finish, but its still a sharp pair of boots despite that.

Black Scale hooks up with artist Jun Cha on the ‘Lux Aeterna’ Capsule Collection for Fall 2011. Having released over the weekend, the collection consists of t-shirts, a snapback cap and a military camouflage shirt.

Black Scale returns this season with yet another sneaker. Of course it comes in black, featuring this time a mostly suede upper with leather accents. The mid top furthermore comes with wingtip details on the upper. Hopefully we can soon show you more!

In time for the sunny days of the year Black Scale presents their “Shades of Black” sunglasses in a new matt black colorway. The sunglasses come with a black frame and dark black lenses, featuring an embossed logo on the exterior and printed details on the inside.

Black Scale presents their new Spring 2011 Collection. The San Francisco based brand keeps on growing their collection, adding several new accessories and mostly cut-and-sew pieces to the collection. For Spring 2011 they present a series of new outerwear pieces, shirts, denim and more.

Black Scale has teamed up with retailer Primitive, the store of Paul Rodriguez, to collaborate on a snapback cap. The cap comes in black and fuses Black Scale signature graphics with the Primitive logo. Look out for a release soon.

As we continue to wrap up the Fall 2011 goods seen at Agenda Anaheim last week, we bring you a look into San Francisco label Black Scale’s cap and accessory program for the season. New Era caps accompany beanies, scarves and a well-developed waxed canvas bag line up, all of which follow a strict black and white (and sometimes red) color scheme. We’ll save the jackets and tees until lookbook time.

A nice and solid new letterman jacket comes from San Francisco brand Black Scale. The jacket is made of black wool with grey accents on the cuffs and waist, as well as a black/white patch embroidery on the chest. The jacket should release soon at the Black Scale store and Black Scale retailers.

San Francisco’s Black Scale presents a series of New Era fitted caps for Holiday 2010. We like Black Scale’s team-style approach, with various “B” logo options and very wearable colors. There are also a couple of SF store 1 year anniversary styles in the mix.
