Creative Control: BlakRoc Late Night Television Takeover

20 January 2010, 13.45 | Posted in Music | 1 comment »

“With the late night wars in full swing and hosting slots being as secure as clothesline in a hurricane, the only consensus on night owl television was that BlakRoc was something to behold. Before the tossed barbs and the chaos, The Black Keys teamed up with Mos Def with Jim Jones and RZA to perform on David Letterman and Jimmy Fallon respectively. Creative Control gives you a look behind the scenes as the acts prepared for their after dark debuts.”

BlakRoc Chevy Camaro

BlakRoc Chevy Camaro

The other day we reported already about BlakRoc, the collaboration between The Black Keys and some of the biggest names in hip hop, including Mos Def, Q-Tip, RZA, Raekwon, Pharoahe Monch, Jim Jones, NOE, Nicole Wray and Billy Danze. Here we give you a look at the new BlakRoc Chevy Camaro.

“Carl Black Chevrolet will be the world wide exclusive outlet to offer the official BlakRoc Chevy Camaro.

The 2010 Chevy Camaro speaks for itself with its sculptured body and passionate engineering that left nothing to be desired. Carl Black has simply added the sizzle to match the passion and creativity of the BlakRoc project.

From the ground up, the BlakRoc Camaro has been equipped with sleek, stylish accents that tie in with the BlakRoc brand. Starting with the BR logo inlayed front and center.

Blacking it out turns up the heat. The windows are tinted, the taillights are smoked, and even the Chevy bow tie goes dark to complete the look. The Black on Black classic combination subtly comes to life with flat black racing stripes front to back with the BlakRoc logo inlayed in metallic on the hood and rear spoiler.

Interior includes the BlakRoc logo embedded in custom design kick plates and black on black BR logo custom embroidered on center console.”

The car is now available for purchase.

BlakRoc: The Trailer

25 November 2009, 12.00 | Posted in Music | 2 comments »

The Black Keys paired up with hip-hop artists such as Jim Jones, Mos Def, Raekwon, Ol’ Dirty Bastard and a cadre of other stars for a fresh new sound.

“Whether it be physical or figurative, whether it be the Berlin Wall or a social stigma, sometimes there are dividing lines that separate what should be together naturally. BlakRoc does not smash those boundaries or break down those walls, it proceeds as if those boundaries never existed and acts accordingly. BlakRoc sets the drawbridge between forms of expression, Hip Hop and Rock by doing something as simple as putting the artists of different genres of music in one room and documenting as harmonious collaboration takes place. Backed over the soundscapes of indie rock superstars The Black Keys, BlakRoc brings elite hip hop artists to record an album like none other, an experiment with no control subject.”

BlakRoc will be available Nov 27th on iTunes and select music retailers worldwide.
