Always taking a bit of a different approach, German brand Bless has once again caught our attention with one of their accessories. They have just released the ‘watch belt’, which is a leather belt featuring a classic Casio digital watch. It comes in both natural and black colorways and is now available from Project No. 8. Do not ask us how to best read the time off of the belt, we can only see that happening by removing half of it or making some rather strange moves. Hey, it is all about the idea, right?

BLESS is re-opening their Berlin retailer location, but everything is a little different now – not only the location, but the entire concept. With pop-up stores and temporary outlets opening left and right, it is nice seeing the label taking it to the next level and once again showing some innovation in the retail space.

“BLESS Shop Berlin, relocated and renewed, now floats like a private island, three floors up and hidden away in a typical residential street of East Berlin.

Existing as the home of the first BLESS collector, the space is filled with BLESS products, that over time, grew and took shape as the perfect collection to live in and with.

This apartment ambience extends the concept of welcome. As a visit to BLESS is an energy intense investment (there are three floors to climb) this energy is rewarded with intimacy.”

People will be living inside the space the entire time, with French artist Cyril Duval being the first one.

In welcoming the Spring/Summer 2010 season, JOYCE presents the much anticipated “Truly Gifted III” program starting from February 25th to March 14th.  After last season’s incredibly successful Truly Gifted program, in which they collaborated with Alexander McQueen to create an exclusive USB stick for JOYCE, they invited more designers to participate in their largest promotional program of the season.  Designers from Rick Owens, Dries Van Noten, Marni, Etro, Bless and Anna Sui specially designed limited iPhone cases for Hong Kong’s JOYCE.

Creative elements from the brands’ current collections are portrayed in the iPhone cases with Bless’ rock-shaped case as the most unique.  All cases are exclusively available at JOYCE and selected affiliated boutiques.

You just have to appreciate the creative minds of designer duo Bless. For Spring/Summer 2010 they present their new “Picture” sunglasses. Based on the classic pilot silhouette, the sunglasses come with pictures on the lenses. There are overall two styles, both available at colette.

Bless always makes sure to come out with some surprises, especially in their accessories collection. The Berlin based designer duo presents as part of their Fall/Winter 2009 Collection the Ed Phones. The Ed Phones are essentially head phone covers, made out of leather, featuring heavy silver metal zippers. They come in black and in grey and are now available from colette.

Longchamp is celebrating the 20th anniversary of ANDAM (Association Nationale pour le Développement des Arts de la Mode), which promotes emerging French and international fashion talent, with an unprecedented creative collaboration with three previous winners of the prestigious ANDAM Fashion Award.

Jeremy Scott, Charles Anastase and the design duo Bless were selected by ANDAM and invited to create limited editions of Longchamp’s Le Pliage® bag, bringing their unique and avant-garde vision to bear on the groundbreaking foldable design that has become a cult classic and a staple of modern urban life.

The Jeremy Scott bag features an all-over photo print of the designer himself. Charles Anastase worked on white bags, featuring delicate hand-drawn designs, along with a special button closure. BLESS of course got more technical and innovative with their design, just like we are used to see from them. The entire bag can be folded into the round leather pouch, which then acts as a bracelet.

The three collaboration bags will be available in stores from October 1rst.

In an interesting collaboration Bless got together with Oxbow. We have to admit, Oxbow had entirely disappeared from our radar, and that already years ago. Together with Bless they now created a jacquard sweater.

“Pulling from OXBOW’s archives, Bless has reinterpreted three new skolpens: the 3D-Skolpen, Black & White Mountain-Skolpen and Material Mix-Skolpen. As its name indicates, the 3D-Skolpen has a 3D effect that can be seen when wearing red-green glasses. Meanwhile, the Black & White Mountain-Skolpen features a mountain image, while the Material Mix-Skolpen contains different layers and segments that can be rearranged to suit the personal style of its wearer.”

The Bless x Oxbow Sweater Collection is coming to stores this Fall.

Bless is a label like no other. Over the years they keep impressing us with their creativity and their ideas, that do not seem to come to an end and that do not seem to know any boundaries. From any other brand out there you will in most cases be able to know ahead of time what the new collection will look like, at least in terms of direction and style. We love that that is different with Bless, as every season is full of surprises.

For their Spring/Summer 2009 No. 36 “Nothingneath” collection, the German label once again proposes a very interesting set of accessories, ranging from sunglasses to furniture. We could go on hours trying to explain you the pieces, but the best would be for you to have a look and make up your own mind.

A couple of months ago we came across the Bless cable jewelry in the Azita store in Frankfurt. At the time we were impressed, because once again Bless had touched something that we had not seen before and at the same time cables are something annoying, ugly and in the need of decoration, thus a pretty smart move.

Now Bless also got together with Audio-Technica to apply their cable jewelry to their headphones. The outcome are two models, both coming in black and white colorways. They are now available from the honeyee.store.

We love Bless for their creativity and also for making things happen, that everybody else might not have to courage to do. One of the latest fun products to come from them are these bedsheets. They feature a large all-over print of a couple lying in bed… sleeping.

The Bless No. 34 sunglasses have arrived at SlamJam. As usual the brand presents something special, which is not only reflected on the sunglasses, but also the packaging. A nice split black/silver frame and minimal branding make these glasses stand out.
