The other day we introduced you to the new New Balance 581 sneaker, which will first drop for Spring 2012. To give the new silhouette a bit of a push, New Balance has lined up a series of retailer collaborations, including Bodega from Boston, 24 Kilates Barcelona, Mita Sneakers Tokyo and Kasina from Seoul. All four have added their own little twists to the low top running shoe, with performance details.

These four collaborative sneakers are supposed to release in the first half of 2012, we will keep you posted.

Boston’s Bodega unveiled their Fall/Winter 2011 Collections lookbook and going off of what is seen, the store has a lot going on. A whole slew of products are featured from a wide variety of brands including NSW, Monitaly, Acronym, Stussy Deluxe, Norse Projects, Yuketen, and numerous others. Bodega selected and styled some of their favorite items from the aforementioned brands and here is a look at what came about.

Boston retailer Bodega have teamed up with Saucony on their Elite series Grid 9000. The shoe initially was released in 1994, still holds its original silhouette and GRID shock absorption system. This reworked Grid 9000 comes in four outdoor inspired colorways; blue/orange, black/blue, grey/blue and tan/black. Fine touches have been made on this updated collaborative piece with plush suede uppers and speckled heels. This premium runner, combined with ultimate comfort and premium finishing, is a limited release and is available from End Clothing.

Gravis gets together with Boston retailer Bodega on the ‘A-Frame’ Backpack. They gave the pack a nice wool upper with light brown leather details, resulting in an overall premium look with close to no branding. The 31L size backpack comes limited to 140 pieces, with only 10 of them being sold in the US.

Boston retailer Bodega shares a look into their private label collection for Summer 2011. Mixing in a few favorites from other brands they carry, BDGA showcases a solid range of caps, shirts and anoraks, as well as giving us another look at their upcoming Nike  Air Footscape Woven Chukka Mids, which drop May 28, 2011. In collaboration with Bodega, Saucony brings another classic runner stateside. Originally released in 1991, the Master Control sneaker celebrates it’s 20 year anniversary in premium grey and beige colorways, each in heavy suede with thick nylon laces. Produced in very limited numbers. Now available through Premier and other select doors.

The Nike Sportswear design team worked closely with Boston-based retailer Bodega to showcase the new Air Footscape Woven Chukka Motion. “Available for the first time as a mid in the Shale/Hazelnut-Black colorway, the chukka-height upper features a designed stretch zone around the ankle allowing for ease of entry.” The hybrid sneaker combines hairy suede on the rand and perforated suede on the upper with woven panels for a breathable summer shoe. The sneaker also features a cat eye on the tongue, signifying it’s allegiance with a three-shoe Footscape pack dubbed “Black Cat, Good Luck – Bad Luck.”

Boston retailer Bodega announces their latest collaborative release with Reebok, the Night Sky.

Field tested by Bodega’s quasi-intern Terry Blay, the boots have been affectionately named the “Nappy Dugouts” referring to the deep shaggy “muppet skin” suede. The “Nappy Dugouts” also feature fast gripping gum sole, alpine-style quick lacing system, and rip stop paneling throughout the body.

Limited to 200 packs (each pair comes with a matching tee and water bottle) the sneakers will be released at Bodega on April 16, 2011.

On Saturday, March 12, 2011, Bodega (storeguide) will release their latest collaborative project with Reebok, the Pump AXT “Cottonmouth” made in commemoration of it’s designer Terry Blay, currently an intern at the shop. The sneaker features a perforated pig skin collar, oatmeal colored uppers consisting of soft-tanned Nubuck Sueded leather, a gum sole, red terry cloth lining and tonal embroidered branding. Limited to 200 pairs, the sneakers will come specially packaged with Terry Blay’s essentials – a coffee mug filled with Cottonmouth necessities: Visine, cologne, breath mints and a vinyl sticker page.

Saucony and Boston based retailer Bodega continue their collaboration for Spring 2011. In the next chapter of their collaboration they present four new colorways of the Shadow 6000 and one vintage colorway of the Jazz 91. Expect all these to arrive at Hanon from January 10th.
