Pane is an Italian artist living in Amsterdam who recently partnered with Stussy, Slam Jam, Damiani publishing and VICE to produce a book and tee shirt series.
“People Think I’m Cool – The Life And Art Of Pane” is the first monograph on Stefano Pane Monfeli. The book documents in a work of self-analysis, the symbiosis between the art and life of Pane, with autobiographical stories, images of his work: drawings, paintings and photographic memories in a story of journeys and the inner struggle of the artist, where one opposes urban society and nature.
Amsterdam’s Precinct Five will also host a special event to showcase the works and present the book on Thursday, October 27, 2011. See their video below:

Hardly any artist has amassed so much myth, so many legends and gossip about himself, than UK graffiti artist Banksy. A new book will be released in November, Banksy: Myths & Legends, in which author and journalist Marc Leverton has collected myths, legends and stories about the artist, by talking to his surroundings, mostly in his hometown of Bristol. It took the author almost 3 years to get all the material onto paper.
“For me these stories illustrate the incredible audacity, originality and sheer bloody mindedness of Banksy. Obviously he will be best remembered for his art and exposing the hypocrisy and dumbness of our modern lives. The myths will be viewed as a distraction to some or part of the appeal for others. One thing is certain, the art and the myths are both larger than life and stick two fingers up at conformity. This book is a celebration of that anarchic, rebellious spirit.”
