Japanese brand museum neu worked for Spring 2010 with Dr. Martens on a series of boots. The classic Dr. Martens boots come with some nice added details, including zippers, elastic fastenings and strap closures. The boots will be released at Rowgage in January 2010.

From November 18th until November 24th, visvim will set up a temporary F.I.L. shop-in-shop at Japanese department store Isetan Men’s. The store will carry the visvim Fall/Winter 2009 Collection, along with some nice specials.

Another solid product was produced for the Black Sense Market, a product and retail initiative by Japanese magazine Sense. visvim produced their new Beard Boots-Folk in an all black colorway. The outer sole is white and the ventilation holes come in light blue, setting the only color accents on the otherwise black boot. What we like about this boot style the most, is that it is not as bulky as most other hiking boots in the market.

A solid boot for the Holiday season is the Danner Postman Boot. Similar in style to the classic Desert Boot, Danner presents a nice premium version of the silhouette, featuring leather uppers and Vibram soles. The boot comes in black and in brown and is now available at Gettry.

We already showed you the workboots from Bernhard Willhelm’s capsule collection for Spanish footwear brand Camper. Today we have a look at a second pair of higher-cut boots. They are constructed with the same sole unit and washed out black leather toe, but also feature a lighter upper, with a series of brown leather buckles. Now available from Opening Ceremony (along with the workboots and some women’s styles).

The Nike Sportswear SFB boot comes in a new Hiroshi Fujiwara version as part of the Nike Tier Zero program. The boots come in a grey/purple colorway, using suede and nylon on the upper. They are now available at NOS.

Following the SFB Chukka produced with uniform experiment and Fragment (as part of the SOPH. 10th Anniversary celebration) Stussy Creative Director Paul Mittleman offers a look into two different zip-up versions of the high-cut SFB from Nike. In a post titled “The future is now”, Paul goes on to state that “these Nike SFB zip and chuka boots are a movement into an interesting place. 
They are a great design investigation into finding an equilibrium between sport, style, technology and uniform integrity.” Certainly an interesting evolution in footwear. An official release is yet to be confirmed.

Some new pieces from the visvim Fall/Winter 2009 Collection will be released this week. The Bear Boots-Folk are exclusive to the F.I.L. stores and are a more casual take on the hiking boot, featuring premium suede uppers. The Valdez Down Coat 2L is visvim’s take on the arctic parka, featuring fur on the hood and further leather details around pockets and on the hood.

Alife once again worked with Timberland on a collaborative boot. This time they chose to work on the 40 Below boot. ALIFE’s version of this early 90s New York classic boot features premium leather upper from one of the first and last great American tanneries: the Chicago-based HORWEEN Leather Company. Established in 1905 and known as the country’s best leather tannery, Horween ships leather to the world’s finest shoemakers and is the leather supplier to the NFL and NBA for the manufacture of professional footballs and basketballs.

In addition, just like the 90’s version of the boot, ALIFE’s 40 Below features a Vibram outsole—not available on any other 40 Below on the market. Founded in 1935, Vibram is credited for producing the first ever rubber outsole with a thread designed specifically mountaineering.

In short: A classic New York City boot, made of the best materials available, with ALIFE’s stamp of approval. The boots will be released at Alife New York and TheUpset this coming Friday, November 6th.

Spanish footwear brand Camper continues to work with fashion designer Bernhard Willhelm. The latest result of this collaboration is the above winter boot. It comes in a washed out black leather with a light brown leather strap closure. Via Easttouch.
