One can’t help but to think about outerwear when speaking about The North Face, but their 6″ Ballard Boot is something that can be a diversion from that thought process. Bows & Arrows picked up two colors of these highly durable offerings from TNF. In addition to being easy on the eyes, the boots feature HydroSeal waterproofing, so you can stomp around in these guys in a torrential downpour.

While we needed some time to warm up with the new Nike Sportswear Zoom Meriwether boot, we realized over time that our biggest issue was the strange choice of super colorful options that Nike decided to launch the boot with. As part of their collaboration with Hiroshi Fujiwara’s fragment design, the boot comes in light grey suede and navy and looks really good. Invincible already has them in stock and other premium retailers should also be getting them shortly.

For the launch of their new Strada Boot, Volta gets together with illustrator Anna Parini. Parini created an illustrated story for the introduction of the boots – Two friends, two different paths to follow…and their own field notes.

Inspired by the 70s Italian “pedule” (soft hiking footwear), the Strada Boots were designed for urban-outdoor leisure time. A combination of premium Italian leather and waterproof nylon on the upper, built on the Vibram CT® cross-training sole, the Strada Boots come in two different color combinations for Holiday 2011 – ivory-brown and red-tan and are available at selected stores around the globe, including Steven Alan New York, Excelsior Milan, Freudian Kicks Oslo, Journal Standard Tokyo and the Volta online store.

As part of its on-going Study And Practice Exhibition for their 10th anniversary, Japanese brand visvim will be releasing a limited edition version of its Grizzly Boots Mid-Folk. Inspired by 1960s US work boots, visvim presents them in a series of colorways, featuring UK cow hide premium leather uppers, with SocialSculpture denim by visvim inserts. As we’ve already seen, Bedwin & The Heartbreakers collaborated with Dr. Martens as part of their new Fall/Winter 2011 Collection. Together they’re presenting the ‘Dr. Know’ boot, which comes in black leather with a smoothly curved outer sole, side-zippers and  red Bedwin logo tag on the collar. For Holiday 2011, the Nike SFB is remixed with a winter-friendly combination of leather and duck canvas. Inspired by Nike co-founder and University of Oregon Track & Field Coach Bill Bowerman’s time in the 10th Mountain Division of the US Army, the Nike Innovation Kitchen and Tobie Hatfield set out to honor their founding father with a modern athletic boot designed for first responders. Initially launched in 2009, the Nike Special Field Boot (SFB) was engineered for elite military personnel. The boot’s ultra lightweight, breathability and cushioning combine with sensible street appeal. The Holiday 2011 version drops this month in two colorways – medium olive/black and white/white.

Continuing to interpolate modern takes on classic styles, Oliberté footwear introduces the Mogado Hi, a boot in the tradition of its Mogado deck shoe series. Another solid looking boot has released from the A Bathing Ape Holiday 2011 Collection. The Railroad Boots come in both suede and leather options in black, beige and burgundy. Hiking boot laces, leather mid-soles and the black Vibram outer soles add to the premium appeal and look of the boots. These are now available from Bape stores.

This week A Bathing Ape has released the Mountain Soldier hiking boots from its Holiday 2011 Collection. The classic looking boot comes in three suede and leather versions, featuring black outer soles, nice lace details and only embossed logos and graphics, keeping the overall look clean. The boots are now in stock at Bape Stores.

And it does not stop, another fragment design x Nike collaboration will be dropping in the coming months. This time Hiroshi Fujiwara worked on the Air Magma. Keeping a clean look with grey suede uppers, perforated grey leather lining and black outer sole, the eyecatcher of the mid top hiking sneaker is for sure the added bright yellow side zipper.
