It should come as no surprise at this point that we here at Highsnobiety love collaborative Japanese hiking boot releases. The latest double-label hiker comes by way of Beauty & Youth and Italy’s Diemme Boots (who conveniently lack a website.) Whether or not you have a chance to see these in person, it’s easy to appreciate the rich deep leathers, striped laces and expert craftsmanship. All the standard trappings of a well-made mountain boot. These ones are kind of shiny.

A new premium version of the iconic Timberland 6″ Boot has been released. They’re crafted in premium waterproof leather with a seam-sealed construction to keep your feet dry, whatever the elements throw at you. Other nice details include a padded ankle collar and the Taslan fibre laces. The boots come in black, navy/brown and in brown/khaki and are now available from colette.

Following the low-cut Mountain Ridge release, Ships General Supply continue their collaborative work with Portland, Oregon’s Danner on the more commonly seen Mountain Light. For this season, Ships worked up two luxurious Cordovan leather models  - in black and brown – finished with no-mark Vibram soles, giving them somewhat of a dress shoe look. Very similar to what we saw last year, but you know they say; the classics never go out of style. Ships Jet Blue has them on pre-order for an October drop.

Japan’s Unused got together with Wisconsin-based Russell Moccassin on two styles of the laceless Knock About Boot. Coming in as part of Unused’s Fall/Winter 2009 collection, the boot is made up of beige/tan suede and is available either with or without a sheep skin lining. Now in stock at Noa’s Ark. As with all these Japanese retailers, a proxy is recommended.

A solid pair of new winter boots comes from Wanders Shoes. The Mocca Hi has been released in several colorways, features white leather laces and either white or gum soles. We prefer the thinner boat shoe sole to the more rugged one, but depending on the use, that one might be more appropriate. The boots are now available at Vulture.

It is impressive seeing Visvim enlarge their offering every season and Fall/Winter 2009 we have already seen lots of new footwear from the brand. Here is now a first look at the Decoy Duck Mid-Folk, Visvim’s version of the classic duck boot. It is another F.I.L. store exclusive and will be released on September 11th.

New York based jewelry designer Gabriel Urist is well known for his footwear based charms – the latest of which is a pair of cufflinks resembling Timberland’s iconic 6″ work boot. Made in the good ol’ US of A. Now available from the diligently named Japanese retailer Liquor, woman & tears.

Japanese retailer Ships present these new Danner Horween Mountain Ridges as part of their General Supply collection. A brand name synonymous with outdoor performance, Danner’s Mountain Ridge is a low cut version of the popular Mountain Light boot. Constructed from genuine Horween leather, the Ships General Supply model comes in either Shell Cordovan or Chromexcel. Vibram soles finish the footwear with a distinct charm that comes with the classic look. Blue hiking laces make the darker ones pop. Available late October, but now available for pre-order from Ships Jet Blue. As usual, unless you’re in Japan, you’ll probably need a proxy to secure a pair for yourself.

In the latest installation of the popular Guitar Hero series of video games, you’ll be able to outfit your avatar with a variety of branded products from the likes of Converse, Vans and Dr. Martens. Those of you familiar with the Tony Hawk series know this is nothing new for Activision, however; this round they’ve taken it one step further and are offering styles that cross over into retail.

For this project, Dr. Martens outfitted the iconic 14-Hole Boot with a simple leather guitar silhouette over the heel panel. For men, the boot comes in black or cherry leather with a white or black patent guitar, respectively. There’s no blatant Guitar Hero branding on the product, which is a big plus in our books. Keeping the famous yellow stitching was also a good move. Of course, includes Bouncing Air Wair soles. Guitar Hero 5 officially hits stores on September 11, 2009.

Out of the new Raf Simons x Dr. Martens Fall/Winter 2009 Collection, the 8 Hole Boot is probably the most subtle and easy to wear style. It comes this season in burgundy and in black. Made from solid leather, the boots have a reinforced heel and ankle, stitch detailed upper and burgundy stitched air wair sole; eyelets are brass. These limited edition boots have a Raf Simons x Dr. Marten branded pull tag at the top of the heel. They are now available in both colorways at Oki-Ni.
