Some might say its sacrilege to revisit a classic album like Madvillainy. You know, like George Lucas messing around with Star Wars and digitally inserting Jabba The Hut rapping with Han Solo. But Madlib’s never been one to respect convention – and he made this one for headphone listening while on a ten-hour plane ride to Tokyo.
This album will only be available through the Stonesthrow website, which just relaunched with a new online store. The box set consists of:
CD: Madvillainy “2” The Madlib Remix. 25 tracks.
7-INCH: “One Beer (Drunk Version)” Madlib’s original 2004 version, lost until recently on the floor of his Bomb Shelter studio. If you saw the studio you’d understand.
CASSETTE: The Madvillainy Demo Tape. 12 tracks, 36 minutes. This is the first and only official release of the infamous Madvillain demo that “leaked into cyberspace,” while the album was still in progress, as DOOM alludes to in the lyrics of “Rhinestone Cowboy.”
T-SHIRT: Nominated. Best Rolled L’s. Madvillain shirt.
COMIC BOOK: Meanwhile… the continuation of the All Caps video, included with the CD.
THE BOX: 12×13x3 inches. Wrapped in silver like DOOM’s mask.
You can get it now here.

For the first time ever Arkitip handed the design responsibilities for the issue edition to an outside source. That source being the design trio Wood Wood. Their 44th issue edition also served as the working catalog for the HIGHMATH exhibition that took place last week at the Pool Gallery in Berlin.
Artists that participated in the exhibition were Andrew Schoultz, Chris Lindig, Ed Templeton, Evan Hecox, Cody Hudson, CR Stecyk III, Eric Elms, Gary Benzel, Geoff McFetridge, Jo Jackson, José Parlá, Josh Petherick, Kaws, Killpixie, Michael Leon, Kevin Lyons, Michael Perry, Parra, Phil Frost, Perks, Peter Beste, Peter Sutherland, Richard Colman, Ryan Waller, Shepard Fairey, Todd St. John & Steven Harrington. If you could not make it yet, the exhibition is still running, so go check it out.
For the occasion Arkitip did not only release their latest issue. It actually came in a box set, which consisted of the magazine and also a 3D Viewer with slides of all the artwork that was also presented at the exhibition. The box set is now on sale for 45 USD here.

The year is almost over and we have seen once again tons of new sneakers, collaborations and more. We have seen good, interesting and strange sneakers from the big players this year, but it sure looks like one of the most interesting is yet to come, by none other than Undefeated and Adidas.
Undefeated and Adidas got together to celebrate the “1979″ Top Ten sneaker. The outcome is an amazing box set. The sneaker looks subtle, but has lots of nice small details, such as the “basketball” like upper, golden plated lace jewels and eyelets, and the transparent sole finishing. The sneaker comes in a black box, with real wood flooring, and a book, featuring photographs by long time documenter Estevan Oriol.

The sneakers will be released in February at Adidas Consortium stores, such as Solebox and Foot Patrol. Limited to 650 pairs worldwide, the set will go for 450 USD. It’s expensive, but it has been a while since we have seen something this special and well executed. Probably the most interesting pack fro Adidas all year. Via Crooked Tongues.

A while back we previewed the Levi’s x Medicom Artist Series Bearbricks and here you see the first finished product out of the series. They created a box set, which consists of a Levi’s t-shirt with the designs of Mad Barbarians. The box set also comes with the Levi’s x Medicom x Mad Barbarians 100% Bearbrick and is available in several colorways. It does not stop here. The Bearbrick also exists in a 400% version. Via Basaradan.
This definitely looks good, thus it will be interesting to see what else is going to come out of the project. We’ll keep you posted. After the jump detailed pictures of the t-shirts, the box sets and of course the Bearbricks.
