Canon G12

The other day we showed you the Canon PowerShot S95. We’re big fans, having shot photos all summer with the S90. But for those with slightly bigger pockets (in more ways than one) the G-series has always been a solid look. The latest addition to that legacy is the G12, with updates such as 720p HD video and HDR capabilities. Release date and pricing are still to be confirmed.

Canon PowerShot S95

Canon has officially announced the update to their popular S90 camera, the S95. The small form factor and functionality that you would previously only find in their G-range of cameras, make the S95 a great camera and an interesting alternative.

“The S95 update ($399.99 in late August) to last year’s S90 combines Canon’s DIGIC 4 image processing, a 10-megapixel high-sensitivity CCD sensor, and wide f/2.0 lens to enhance image quality and reduce noise at high ISO levels without resorting to a flash. It features a new high dynamic range (HDR) mode, 720p video recording, and mini HDMI for throwing that video up to the living room flat screen. the S95 is also the first PowerShot to feature Hybrid IS image stabilization to help with macro shots.”

sony nex cameras

It comes to no surprise that Sony is finally introducing their answer to the recent trends in Micro 4/3 cameras, mostly coming from Panasonic and Olympus. The idea of having a high quality camera packed into a rather small case is very appealing and has definitely worked in the market. Sony will soon release their new NEX system, first consisting of the Sony NEX-5 and NEX-3. Both come with a mirror-less system, lenses can be exchanged and the NEX-5 will be the lightest camera in the market of its kind. Both come with a 14.2 Megapixel chip and record video in HD. The cameras will be released in several colorways, of which we can preview a few already today.

Stussy x Ricoh GR Digital III 30th Anniversary Camera | A Detailed Look

22 December 2009, 10.45 | Posted in Gadgets | 3 comments »

Stussy x Ricoh GR Digital III 30th Anniversary Camera
As part of the 30th anniversary (XXX) special projects, Stussy has teamed up with Ricoh to produce a co-branded GR Digital III camera. Ricoh, the Japanese electronics company founded in 1936, has previously never collaborated with a brand to offer a customized camera body in their cult favorite GR Digital line.

Inspired by friends who use the brand’s equipment, such as Japan based photographer Rip Zinger, Stussy was impressed by the size, looks and performance of the Ricoh GR series.

To celebrate the Stussy x Ricoh GR Digital III release, Stussy will curate and present a photo project featuring virtual galleries photographers who we have worked with or admired over our 30-year history. Expect these images to start appearing on Stussy.com in early 2010.

Limited quantities of the Stussy x Ricoh camera will be produced and available for purchase through Stussy Chapter stores. Available in early February, 2010.
