The excitement is great for the opening of the first Carhartt Work In Progress store in the US. Today the store on Crosby Street will be officially opening its doors, releasing among other things, some special fragment design collaboration products.

Yesterday we had the chance to check out the new retail space in Soho. Carhartt did a great job with the built-out, presenting a look that is both true to their brand, yet also up to date with today’s world. A mix of vintage signs, beautiful wooden floors and furniture nicely presents the full collection of the Carhartt WIP brand. Make sure to check it out on your next New York trip.

As previously announced, Carhartt WIP will be opening its first US flagship store on October 27th. The new store will be located on Crosby Street in Soho and for the occasion they have teamed up with Hiroshi Fujiwara’s fragment design on some store exclusive product.

Presented are beanies, t-shirts and pocket t-shirts, all featuring both the classic Carhartt logo and the fragment design logo, as well as an exclusive Carhartt NYC logo tag.

The previously announced Carhartt WIP flagship store New York will be opening its doors on October 27th, on Crosby Street. The Carhartt Work In Progress collection was until recently exclusive to the European and Asian markets and now finally makes its way home into the US market.

For the opening on October 27th, Carhartt WIP NYC will be releasing several exclusive collaborations with fragment design, that will only be available at the New York store. A teaser you can see here above and after the jump.

For the second time Carhartt and Burton get together and present their latest collaborative outerwear for Fall/Winter 2011-2012. Once again the technical performance of Burton is merged with utility-driven workwear looks from Carhartt. This season they present a jacket and matching pants, coming in the signature Carhartt duck canvas color, yet featuring a double layer Gore-Tex Performance Oxford shell. The jacket is modeled after the the Carhartt ‘Traditional’ jacket and the pants after the ‘Single Knee’ pants.

Available in either brown or black, the jackets and pants are available from today at Carhartt stores and select retailers.

After years of complaining that the Carhartt streetwear division from Europe was not selling in the US market, we have seen a slow but steady move into the US market over the last year. Licensed by Work In Progress in Europe, it took a different direction from the US division, establishing the Carhartt brand in Europe as a fashionable streetwear line.

The European collection will now finally make a proper move into the US market. Today Carhartt Europe announced the opening of a New York flagship store by the end of October 2011. A location has not been announced yet, but we will keep you posted!

Today we get a first look at the second collaboration between Carhartt and A.P.C. for Fall/Winter 2011. This time around the two brands present two jackets, including a varsity jacket, some shirts, as well as some t-shirts. Releasing in stores December 15th, we can hopefully show you some more images of the line very soon.

For Fall/Winter 2011, Carhartt releases the latest edition of their Brand Book. Next to their current Fall/Winter 2011 Collection, the Brand Book No. 6 features Adam Kimmel, Hiroshi Fujiwara and everything about the latest interesting collaborative products that the brand has been involved in. You can get the Brand Book now from Carhartt stores around the globe.

For Fall/Winter 2011 Carhartt got together with outdoor brand Salewa on a sleeping bag. The super light-weight sleeping bag is breathable and has great insulation and is based on the Salewa Sigma Flex 1 model. It is 190cm long and can be used for temperaturs between -15 and +5 degrees celcius. It comes in a military green colorway with camouflage lining and features the Carhartt script logo on the front. The sleeping bag is now available in stores and online.

Having first worked together in 2008, Burton and Carhartt align once again for a fresh snowboard-meets-workwear jacket. Featuring 2L GORE-TEX construction, the jacket will keep you much drier than your average duck twill. Available in stores on October 1, 2011.

Carhartt presents a series of video clips to introduce their new Fall/Winter 2011 Collection. The series has been directed by Alexander Basile and was entirely filmed on a RED ONE camera system.
