In crazy car news, we show you today this Ferrari 612 Scaglietti Desert Camo version. Of course at first everybody thought Nigo was in town, but it turns out it is a local owner, spotted here in Frankfurt, Germany. Once again a brave move to apply a desert camo colorway to such an expensive and exotic car, as if one does not attract enough attention with a regular colorway on the car. What do you think? The Bape General did it once again, this time on one of the most mind-blowing oldtimers of all time – Nigo put his Bape camouflage pattern on the Mercedes 300SL, along with all sorts of other types of customization, such as a custom AMG engine, wheels and more. This is one of the most beautiful cars ever built, thus we are not so sure it really needs the Bape camo make-over, but at least Nigo can be sure it’s a unique piece. Previously Nigo had put the camouflage on a Rolls-Royce Phantom.

We came across an excellent commercial of the new BMW Z4 roadster. Artist Robin Rhode created a giant canvas, on which he applied the paint with the actual BMW Z4. Not only is the idea great, the outcome is as well. Via 5×5.

At the Geneva Auto Show, Infiniti presented their new Essence sportscar. The beautiful car does not only impress with its design and its 600 HP hybrid engine, but also with the details. As you can imagine the tunk is pretty small and therefore Infiniti commissioned Louis Vuitton to create a custom luggage collectio, that fits perfectly into the trunk. The outcome is just perfect. A four door Porsche was already supposed to come out in the 90’s. The high development costs almost ruined Porsche as a company. With the successful introduction of their Cayenne jeep, it looked like Porsche could pull off something else aside from their sports cars this time around. Soon the new four door Panamera will be released – the Porsche “Family” car so to speak. Opinions are mixed on the new car, but we have to say, we like it and we like the idea behind it.

Today we get a first look at not only the exterior, but also the interior of the car, which offers all four passengers full seats and of course everything else you would expect from a luxury car. We cannot wait to see it on the roads. Via Openers.

This is big news – finally images of the much anticipated four door Porsche Panamera are out. For those of you that have a bit of an interest in cars, Porsche actually wanted to come out with a four door car years ago and almost went bankrupt at the time because of the massive R&D costs. Now after successfully launching their Cayenne a couple of years ago, the timing seems better. From the first images the Panamera looks great.

The Bugatti Veyron has been an impressive car ever since it was introduced. But this new “Chrome” make-up of the super sportscar takes it to a new level. The entire upper of the car has been given the chrome treatment. You can be sure that everybody will turn around when this car passes by. Via Openers.

BMW has unveiled the new Mini E, a Mini with an electric engine. The all-electric Mini only has two seats, as the rear seats are taken by the batteries. Nevertheless BMW presents a great design on the new car, which comes in a nice anthracite colorway with yellow accents and a special Mini E logo on the front grill, inside and roof.

The Mini E will not be released in a big way yet. For now only 500 units will be produced and given out to a selected few, who will test the car for a while. The Mini E has 95mph max speed will run for 2.5 hours on a full charge.

Last week Staple Design presented Downshift Session 2008. The event celebrates automotive design, music and gaming. In conjunction with Grand Tourism, visitors engage in virtual time trials. Music was provided by Kid Sister. Staple and Haze both put their hands to Lotus automobiles and each was rather successful.

We do not report very often about Diesel and also not much about cars, but we really like the outcome of the Fiat 500 that they worked on. Fiat worked with denim maker Diesel on the design of this special edition car. It will be produced for two years and overall they will be making a maximum of 10′000 cars, which means that if you want one, chances are you will be able to get one.

Besides the great choice of color, we mostly enjoy the comeback of the classic Diesel logo, which appears on the wheels and on the shift stick inside the car. The car can be ordered in Europe as of today.
