The Audi R8 GRAND-AM customer sport race car will make its debut at the Rolex 24 this weekend in Daytona. The race marks the beginning of the Grand-Am road racing season with teams APR Motorsport and Oryx Racing each driving one of the new cars.

The race will start on Saturday, January 28 and end on Sunday, January 29 at 15:30 Daytona local time (CET -6 hours).

Porsche celebrated a special milestone in a rather unique way recently when they racked up 2 million Facebook fans. To mark the occasion, a special Cayman S featuring the fan’s photos has been created and is currently on display at Porsche Museum in Stuttgart, Germany. If you’re a fan and curious to see if you made it onto the car, you can go to this site and by entering your name, you will be able to check for your photograph.

BMW has released the first images of the 2013 BMW X6 Sports Activity Coupé. Check out some info about the vehicle below:

The BMW X6 is the world’s first ever Sports Activity Coupé, still a unique combination of sporty dynamics and supreme versatility and with further enhanced appeal from spring 2012. Selective modifications in design and innovative equipment features hone the profile of the new BMW X6 as a distinctive model within the premium segment of all-wheel-drive automobiles. Its exceptional standing and ongoing popularity is due to both its highly expressive design, combing the athletic and elegant lines of a coupé with the supremacy of a BMW X model, and the fascinating driving experience provided by powerful petrol and diesel engines fitted with BMW TwinPower Turbo Technology and the intelligent all-wheel-drive system xDrive, including Dynamic Performance Control.

Since its market launch, more than 150,000 of the Sporty Activity Coupé were sold within approximately three years. This far exceeded the original plans. And the continuing high level of demand for the BMW X6 on the worldwide automobile markets is impressive confirmation of the unusual vehicle concept of the Sports Activity Coupé.

Black and yellow, black and yellow… Bugatti pushes out a “Bumblebee” themed edition of their Veyron, sans-Transformers decals. This one-off version of the 16.4 Grand Spot (the open-top version of the car) sports a bright yellow body with visible black carbon, black wheels and a matching interior color scheme, with black and yellow leathers. Look to spend over $2 million USD for this limited run (150 units) edition Veyron.

We’ve seen Batmobiles and dog mobiles like the one from Dumb and Dumber, but a L.L. Bean bootmobile? Well, it happened as part of the iconic US retailer’s 100 year anniversary and now here is a look at it. Check the video to see how it came to be!

Ushering out the 4.2 V8 engine, Audi introduces a special edition of their S5 model. Available exclusively in Daytona Grey paint, a color usually only seen on Audi R and RS models, the car is characterized by a two-tone black and white interior, 5-spoke wheels, special badging. Only 125 of these coupes will be ever be made. Act accordingly.

Today we present the latest episode of Driven. You can watch the all new Porsche 911 (991) being put through its paces at the Porsche Experience Centre Silverstone. Gordon Robertson explains some of the new cutting edge technology developed for the car while also exploring how it remains true to its iconic 911 roots. Enjoy!

Also presented during the 2012 Detroit Auto Show was the smart for-us, an interesting concept for the city, both energy efficient, ideal for the city and other terrains, and yet with plenty of space to cover all your needs.

“For the first time, the smart for-us translates the practical load layout of a pickup to the reality of 21st century urban traffic. With its small outside dimensions, it could almost go unnoticed in the bed of a typical American pickup. Under the body, it’s anything but ordinary: the for-us is agile and lively to drive, with state-of-the-art all-electric power from a 55- kilowatt magneto-electric motor.

The smart for-us has plenty of room for two people and behind them two slits in the cargo bed for the front wheels of two smart ebikes. Electric bikes are range-extending in two respects; The convenient docking station in the cargo bed ensures that the ebike batteries are always charged, and from a trip into town to a nature preserve outing, the smart ebikes enable smart for-us passengers to reach destinations that are out of bounds for cars – for example, park trails and restricted zones in cities.”

After first mock-ups were released in November of last year, we finally get to see some nice shots of the all new 2012 Mercedes-Benz ML 63 AMG. For the update of the super SUV, AMG did not only manage to infuse more power, but to even make it more fuel efficient than its predecessors.

“Running on 11.8 litres of fuel per 100 kilometres (NEDC combined, 276 g CO2/km), the high-performance SUV undercuts its predecessor by 28 percent. The basis for low fuel consumption and top-class performance is provided by the AMG 5.5-litre V8 biturbo engine with a maximum power output of 386 kW (525 hp) and a peak torque of 700 newton metres, representing an increase of 11 kW (15 hp) and 70 newton metres. The optionally available AMG Performance package boosts the V8 engine’s power output to 410 kW (557 hp) and its maximum torque to 760 newton metres. The AMG RIDE CONTROL sports suspension with newly developed ACTIVE CURVE SYSTEM for active roll stabilisation, the AMG-specific design and the broad scope of standard equipment and appointments make for a highly attractive overall package.”

This week first official images of the upcoming 2013 Porsche Boxster have been unveiled. We have to admit that we quite like what we see – the new Boxster looks more aggressive and sporty that its predecessors.

“The open-top two-seat car receives an entirely new lightweight body and a completely revamped chassis. The new Boxster weighs less than the previous generation and rides on a longer wheelbase and a wider track. These new dimensions are coupled with larger wheels and a new electromechanical power steering system to significantly enhance the mid-engine sports car’s driving dynamics. The new Boxster boasts superior performance and is also up to 15 percent more fuel-efficient than previous models on the European cycle.

The new sports car generation makes its debut in the classic Porsche pairing of Boxster and Boxster S. Both models are powered by flat-six engines with direct fuel injection, the efficiency of which is further enhanced by electrical system recuperation, thermal management and start/stop function. The base model’s new power unit delivers 265 hp from a 2.7 liter displacement – ten hp more than its larger displacement predecessor.

Technically, it is now based on the 3.4-liter engine of the Boxster S. This now delivers 315 hp, which is five hp more than before. Both models feature a manual six-speed gearbox as standard with the seven-speed Porsche Doppelkupplungsgetriebe (PDK) available as an option. Both sports cars achieve their best fuel consumption and acceleration performance with the PDK. With gear changes without interruption to the power flow, the Boxster sprints from zero to 60 mph in 5.4 seconds, the Boxster S in 4.7 seconds.”
