RockersNYC presents their latest collection entitled Methods of Droppin Mental. The colors and images of Fall/Winter 09 show the strength and individuality of the RockersNYC brand alongside three epic collabo pieces. RockersNYC and Cassette Playa unified to create two “outergalatic” t-shirts, while new Venice upstart brand Hellaca worked with RockersNYC to pay homage to Suicidal Tendencies artist Rick Clayton.

RockersNYC also presents a new capsule line called RCKRS. Focusing on the anarchal aesthetic of the early 80’s, RCKRS Fall/Winter 09 sends a strong message while staying simple with clean cuts and basic colors. The new gear from both RockersNYC and RCKRS is now in stores worldwide and on shop.rockersnyc.com.

Last but not least, to celebrate the release of the latest season, RockersNYC offers an “intergalactic post-punk dub safari into the inspiration behind Methods of Mental” by way of a mixtape. Now available for download here.

After several small previews these last few weeks, we can finally show you the complete Nike x Cassette Playa Rivalry Collection today. Consisting of the Dunk Hi, three t-shirts, a premium Varsity Jacket, as well as more light-weight versions of the Varsity Jacket, the collection combines classic Nike styles with the fashion forward and colorful designs of Carrie Munden’s Cassette Playa style.

Next to the inline products that Nike will release in collaboration Cassette Playa, they also worked on a premium limited edition varsity jacket with the London brand. The jacket comes in a green colorway and features one white leather sleeve and one black leather sleeve. The white sleeve features a series of colorful patches and the black sleeve comes with tonal patches. Further details come on the front and the back of the jacket. Compared to the regular Cassette Playa collection the jacket is definitely more subtle. The orange accents come out very nice on the jacket. Look out for a more detailed view at the jacket next week.

Well, it seems like the Nike x Cassette Playa Dunk Hi Premium has after all changed in terms of design before the release and it has changed for the better. The updated version of the sneaker comes with a black nylon upper, white contrasting stitching, red outer sole and graphics on the toe box. Furthermore the sneaker comes with a clear Swoosh, Cassette Playa graphic on the tongue tag and three pairs of laces.

Previously rumored to have been scrapped, the Cassette Playa designed Nike Dunk Hi Premium has begun to hit select Nike accounts. Cassette Playa treats the classic basketball high top to their signature psychedelic eyeball prints, a transparent swoosh and a heavy dose of black. A run has landed at atmos-toyko, so we’re thinking a stateside release won’t be too far off.

Our man Robert Wunsch was in attendance last night at Cassette Playa’s Spring/Summer 2010 NYFW presentation. With camera in hand, he snapped us a few exclusive flicks of the festivities. As we’ve come to enjoy from the brand, the collection is inundated with over-the-top prints, patterns and colors. Silhouette-wise, CP’s Carri Munden plays with both classic and more fashion-forward looks. At ground level, an interesting arrangement of footwear was seen on the feet of several models. No word on whether or not these kicks are Cassette Playa exclusives, but we’ll be sure to let you know.

Now this is a collaboration that totally makes sense to us. Both Cassette Playa and Rockers NYC have been doing their thing for years, setting themselves clearly apart from everything else out there. Also both are known for bold and colorful graphic t-shirts and therefore seeing them work together on a series of tees seems natural. The t-shirts will be released very soon at colette and other premium retailers.

After the Blazer Hi, Nike once again worked with Carrie Mundane of Cassette Playa for Fall 2009. This time the designer from London worked on the Dunk Hi Premium ND. The sneaker comes in a black/red/blue colorway with a transparent plastic Swoosh. The sole comes in matching black and the entire upper features contrasting white contrasting white stitching. An interesting logo tag is placed on the tongue. Look out for an October 2009 release.

We give you a first look at the Cassette Playa Fall/Winter 2009 Collection, entitled “Believe in Flesh + Metal”, inspired by Norse mythology, cyborgs and mmorpg’s.

The Cassette Playa Fall/Winter 2009 Collection is split into two parts – a diffusion collection, entitled CP++, which features screen printed tees, transfer tees, embroidered polo shirts and jackets alongside heavy weight crews and hooded sweats. Everything is monotone. The second part consists of limited edition digital print pieces from the mainline Cassette Playa line, “I dedicate this battle to Odin!”. This season is more of a capsule line comprising Cassette Playa cult oversized dp tees, plus a silk quilted dp parka and silk dp dress shirt. Graphics are as usual wild and mix all kinds of media, unseen from any other brand out there, continuing to set the UK brand apart. Signature Cassette Playa faces are built from sci fi shapes and symbols derived from Viking jewelery and mythology. This seasons digital print is composed of computer generated 3D imagery and subverted video footage.

Earlier this week we reported about the collaboration of Cassette Playa from London and Fruition store from Las Vegas on a couple of t-shirts. The t-shirts are now available in the Fruition online store. Cassette Playa’s own Carrie Munden is modeling them for you and just like you expect from the brand, all the t-shirts are graphic and color rich.
