Cassette Playa has worked with Lavenham on their iconic quilted jackets. For Fall/Winter 2011 the two brands present two limited edition hand painted versions of the jacket in the usual colorful style, that the London brand by Carrie Munden is known for. colette has them both in stock now.

The CLOT x Disney ‘Man in the Forest’ Travelling Mickey exhibition recently had its first stop in Shanghai. CLOT asked a series of artists and designers to present custom versions of the iconic cartoon character. The line-up of participating artists includes Dr. Romanelli, Madsaki, Andre, Cassette Playa, Mr. Cartoon, Eric So, Mr. Azuma, CLOT themselves and other outstanding artists.

TOPMAN presents for Summer 2011 the Swim Short Project. As part of the project they collaborated with a series of creatives and designers on swim shorts. Contributors to the project include Cassette Playa, Todd Selby, Jonathan Saunders, Bernhard Willhelm and Gary Card. The collection of swim shorts is now available from TOPMAN stores.

Carri Munden and Cassette Playa celebrate the 50th birthday of the Mattel’s KEN (yes, Barbie’s boyfriend) with a collection of 3D printed silk t-shirts, cricket jumpers, varsity jackets, shorts and trousers. “Because Ken is the ultimate pin-up, his muscly gold torso is featured in the prints along with CGI rainbow roses and the Ken logo. [...] Text message and BBM symbols are also used in the prints to make Ken the perfect boyfriend for a new generation.” The collection is now available, exclusively at colette.

This week, Cassette Playa presented their new Fall 2011 collection as part of London Fashion Week. Designer Carrie Mundane showcased a selection of hand-painted, leather biker jackets, digital print placement shirts and tracksuits as well as an exclusive series of Lavenham quilted bombers and silk jackets. If you like your gear loud, you can’t beat these. Carri has fun with it.

In their latest collaboration with Medicom Toy, Japanese store Advantage Cycle has invited Cassette Playa, Maharishi and artist Will Sweeney to create their own luggage and accessory collections. Included in the product range are backpacks, fanny packs, cushions, wallets and more. We especially like the Maharishi camo used in the line and Cassette Playa also created an intriguing all-over design, using their signature colors, yet managing to keep it a little more subtle than usual.

After a quick first look at the upcoming collaboration between Ambush and Cassette Playa for Spring/Summer 2011, we can already showcase the lookbook which was produced for the capsule collection. The lookbook does a good job in showcasing the various jewelry from the collaboration, also it highlights some of the clothing pieces that complement the jewelry. Look out for a release of the collection early next year.

Japanese jewelry brand Ambush has linked up with Cassette Playa on a small collaborative collection. The line consists of pendants, bracelets, brooches and more. The mash-up of these two brands is pretty much a perfect match, as they both like bold design and colors.

Medicom Toy is really pushing the Bearbrick for June 2010. Another highlight is a 100% Bearbrick designed by Carri Munden’s Cassette Playa. The translucent purple figure will be available June 5, 2010.

Stussy gets ready to release the 3rd installment of their 30th anniversary t-shirts and once again the line-up of collaborators is very impressive. Stussy presents collaborative t-shirts with Undefeated, Ransom, Cassette Playa, NEXUSVII®, Commonwealth, Super Co. and CLOT. We would even say that this group is in terms of graphics among the strongest so far.

The 3rd group of 30th anniversary t-shirts will be released on May 21st.
