In an interesting collaboration, G-Star RAW has teamed up with Vitra on a chair collaboration. They chose to work on models of the late French designer Jean Prouvé. The outcome is the Jean Prouvé Prouvé RAW Special Edition Chair, which comes in two colorways and it will be launched at the hhstyle.com x SIGN x G-STAR RAW ‘JEAN PROUVE EXHIBITION’. (Via Openers)

Like most G-Star projects, the Dutch denim brand also chose this time to go with a matte grey coloring of the product, giving it a military feel.

Stussy once again gets together with Tower Records and outdoors supply company Coleman to get you set up for the festivals in the coming months.

For Fall 2011 the three brands present a camping chair, the utility blanket and the micro quad LED lantern. The collection comes in a military green colorway with Stussy graphic pattern and will be released September 22nd.

Swiss luxury brand Bally celebrates its 160th anniversary this year. For the occasion they got together with Herman Miller and produced a limited edition Eames shell chair. The chair comes in white and features the wooden leg construction. Special elements of the chair includes the twin stripes, the traditional Bally branding, and a Bally logo metal plate, placed on the back of the chair.

In time for the summer festival season, Stussy has linked up with Tower Records, Coleman and MEI on a series of products that will for sure come in handy. Next to the more standard t-shirts and mesh caps, the brand presents a Coleman chair, a Coleman mat, a Coleman Micro Quad LED lantern, as well as MEI backpacks and waist bags. All product features a rather colorful design, with lots of classic Stussy details. Look out for the collection to release in Japan soon.

Perhaps unexpected (though also, oddly expected given the breadth of Tron tie-ins), this chair was designed by Dror Benshetrit, an NYC-based fellow, and produced by Italian firm Cappellini. The chair is made of impregnated fiberglass and polyester resin. With its angular layers, the Special Production Walt Disney Signature TRON Armchairs invite you to “sit off the grid.”

Not surprisingly, Benshetrit’s design is debuting today at Art Basel Miami. The chairs will come in a variety of paint jobs.

As part of their Fall/Winter 2010 Collection, A Bathing Ape once again worked on the iconic Side Chair. Previously Bape gave it the camo treatment. This season the newly launched partnership with Sanrio is placed on the chair. The Sanrio Characters, along with Baby Milo are featured on the back of the chair, while the front is just red. Look out for a release later this season.

Some interesting new product has been released from the Neighborhood Spring/Summer 2010 Collection. Their collaborations with Loake on a tassled Loafer and with Island Slipper on a sandal have dropped. Along also comes a new foldable lounge chair, perfect for the festival season this summer, featuring the same web design that you also find on the sandal. Stone Island has worked with prestigious international design firm Zanotta on the “Metamorfosi” project. The outcome is an interesting mix of Stone Island’s innovative materials and Zanotta’s designs. One example of the fusion of the two, is the Silver Pure Metal “Sacco” chair that you see here above.

“Aldo Petillo, with Andrea Dichiara, has created a link between Stone Island, which has always been a lodestar in materials research for clothing, and Zanotta, a prestigious international design firm.

The metamorphosis of the celebrated Zanotta “Sacco” chair, becomes a body to dress and a place for dialogue. Each object is neither a Zanotta ‘Sacco’ chair, nor a Stone Island jacket, but a METAMORPH, similar to a sculpture, yet without all the difficulties of volume and perception that the sculpture presents.”

Recently we gave you a first preview of the product of the Bape x Case Study House collaboration, consisting of several Eames chairs, a wall clock and matching t-shirts. For the launch the Bape Gallery hosted an exhibition of the items. The chairs are nicely placed on a table that comes in the form of a big Bape head logo. Just beautiful and we love seeing Bape going outside of their common ground.

Bape is celebrating their collaboration with Case Study Shop, which previously saw them work on the iconic Eames shell chair. This time around they will release the Camo Side Chair, the Bape Wall Clock and also t-shirts, featuring the design of the chairs. The sale will take place at the Bape Gallery from March 6th until March 28th.
