Quite unexpected it turns out that singer Lily Allen is the new face of Chanel. She was shot by none other than Karl Lagerfeld for their new campaign and brings a more playful factor to the classic French couture brand. For now only a couple of images of the Lily Allen for Chanel campaign have surfaced, but look out for more as we get closer to Fall.

We have seen the fashion label lollipops not long ago, and now here come the fashion cupcakes. Shot by Swedish photographer Therese Aldgard and styled by Lisa Edsalv, the two created a fantastic line-up of cupcake sets. They were inspired by Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Christian Louboutin and Betsey Johnson.

Chanel is one of those luxury brands, that always stuck to their classic aesthetics over the years, while also showing some great innovation. Karl Lagerfeld still impresses us with his creativity and drive to surprise the crowds. During the last Chanel fashion show they presented the new Perspex Briefcase. In the last couple of weeks all major fashion shows took place around the globe. Massimo Gammacurta came up with the perfect accessory to attending the shows – fashion brand lollipops. He created them with the Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Chanel and YSL logos in a series of different flavors.

Every season French luxury brand Chanel tends to come out with one special item, that you would usually not find from a brand in their category. In recent seasons we have seen bikes, a snowboard, skis, and also a fishing rod. Let’s be clear right from the start – these items are not made for enthusiasts in the category. You will never see a dedicated fisher use the Chanel fishing rod or a daily biker using the Chanel bike. These items are made for people that want something out of the ordinary, for fans of the Chanel brand.

For Spring/Summer 2009 they have once again made such an item – a guitar. Just like all the other items from previous seasons, the guitar also comes in all black, with white accents, and is wrapped in a signature quilted white Chanel leather guitar bag. Look out for its release in Chanel stores soon.

For the occasion of the 125th anniversary of Coco Chanel, Karl Lagerfeld designed a special 5 Euro coin. The coin features both a portrait of Coco Chanel and lots of other trademark graphics of the brand. The 5 Euro coin was chosen, as it is a good match with the Chanel No. 5  fragrance.

The coin comes in a gold version, limited to 99 pieces, with each piece going for 5900 Euros. The silver coin goes for 45 Euro and comes in a run of 11900. The coins will be released on December 1rst.

Chanel has arrived at Dover Street Market with an ephemeral boutique on five of the six floors, showcasing an edited selection of Ready to Wear, accessories, and shoes from the unique Metiers d’Arts Paris-Londres Collection.
This is the first time that Chanel will be available at Dover Street Market and will feature limited edition pieces, in addition to a selection of iconic pieces from the Chanel collection. From 9th to 25th June.

Since a couple of years now we see high end fashion houses dipping into the cellphone market. Most recently Prada and Giorgio Armani made their moves, offering phones. But, let’s face it, to date we have seen nothing groundbreaking and even if the design was alright, in terms of functionality, they were always disappointing.
Now we came across first images of a new Chanel cellphone over at Artschoolvets. The phone carries the name Chanel Choco Phone and the screen as well as keyboard are hidden. Interesting concept and something we hope to see soon. For now there is no release date set.
