LRG x DVS "Chico Brenes" Collection
The story of Chico Brenes is truly a rags-to-riches tale. Coming to America as an illegal immigrant from Nicaragua, Chico was literally smuggled across the border into the United States. On the other side he began what would become a fifteen-year career as one of the most respected and well-liked skateboarders of all time.

DVS and LRG recently partnered up on a collaboration project that pays tribute to his story. The first installment of the project features a red-flannel Munition Mid shoe, a flannel button-up, a new era, and a t-shirt. The shoe comes with insole art featuring the Orange Vendor graphic used on Chico’s first World Industries Pro model designed by artist Mark McKee in 1992.

Check out the “Then” video montage of Chico’s early days as a skater in San Francisco at DVSShoes.com and stay tuned for the second installment of Chico’s story coming this holiday.
