With the country’s top park firm, the snowboard industry’s most recognizable name and a state-of-the-art indoor snow dome, the landscape of Chinese snowboarding will be forever changed this June 14th when Qiaobo Ice and Snow World unveil their brand new Burton Mellow Park.

"The drive behind the project is to get more people on the snow riding and having fun," comments Steve Zdarsky," Mellow CEO. "With Burton as our partner and their LTR program in effect, the new park is really going to draw the crowds. Besides we are all just super stoked we can now ride in Beijing year-round!"

Indoor facilities are becoming more accessible in non-winter friendly environments around the world. The park, located just outside the city center, will boast a kicker line, wallride as well as rail and box combinations. "The park will be as sick as we can make it," explains Marco Huang, Park Designer. "The snow in Qiaobo is surprisingly good, and the management is stoked to have a new Mellow Park, so it’s going to be a fun area for all levels of riding".

Mellow is the owner of many events including the TTR 4Star Red Bull Nanshan Open as well as many international standard parks around the country. With nearly every single advancement in Chinese snowboarding on its long list of accomplishments, Mellow Constructions is the only partner of choice for snowboard marketing and events in China.

Hiroshi Fujiwara reports that they will probably be releasing a Fragment Design x Nike Tennis Classic "Panda" pack, which will be auctioned off and proceeds will be donated to the victims of the earthquake. The panda was chosen as the main inspiration for the pack, as it stands for China and more importantly one of the main panda regions of China has been hit by the earthquake.
This is a similar action to the auction held for Niigata. At the time they had made a pack of HTM Air Force 1’s.
There is not set date yet for the auction as the incident just happened, nevertheless Fujiwara already gives us a first look at the sneakers.
This is definitely a great initiative that you should support as much as possible!

Along with its apparel and footwear for overall 22 sports, Nike also presented in Beijing the Olympics version of their newly developed Hyperdunk.
Nike’s lightest and strongest basketball shoe owes its existence to Nike’s revolutionary Flywire technology as it made its transition from track spikes to basketball. Flywire is the innovation driving Nike’s strongest and lightest footwear. Super-strong nylon filaments provide precise support akin to the suspension cables in a bridge, and allow a radical reduction in weight with material only where it’s needed for structure.
PUMA and iconic Oriental lifestyle brand, Shanghai Tang, have once again teamed up to celebrate one of PUMA’s most celebrated women’s styles, the Lena, a limited edition footwear line.
This exclusive women’s release complements Shanghai Tang’s mission to inject modernity, sophistication and relevance into Chinese culture. It also features Shanghai Tang’s signature print and comes in two bold colors – pink & green. The black suede leather vamp on the Lena combines with the smooth satin-like textile print to create a unique look that makes a statement, yet is easy to wear.
But it is pink, very pink. We suggest that you keep it in the closet until it gets a little warmer again! These are now available at Overkill.

The next Olympic Games will be taking place in Beijing. For the occasion artist Kaws teamed up with Chinese sports goods company Li Ning. Li Ning is actually a famous Chinese sportsman, that won many medal himself at Olympic games and after he ended his sports career founded the Li Ning company. Li Ning is in China more popular than Nike and Adidas, also due to endorsement contracts with the likes of Shaquille O’Neal and Damon Jones.
This Kaws collaboration will be dropping some time next year around the Olympic Games. The trackjacket comes in white with the Olympic rings replaced by Kaws’s iconic crosses. We expect more to come out of this collaboration. Via Kidulty.
