Chrome Niko DSLR Bag

13 July 2011, 15.30 | Posted in Accessories | 2 comments »

Chrome--Niko-DSLR-Bag-2

Today, Chrome introduced the Niko, a DSLR sling bag. “A few things came to mind when I first saw this. One of which was why would you use the Chrome signature “asshole joke” buckle on a bag that carries expensive camera equipment? I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen people walk into a bar with their Chrome bag on, only to have their friends press the seat belt buckle and it immediately falls to the ground.” The minimalist bag is made with weatherproof nylon and comes in at around $100. You can find the Niko online or at each of Chrome’s three retail stores.

Chrome Salvage Bag Series

The new Chrome Salvage Bag Series uses reclaimed materials for the external panels of our Heritage Citizen to create unique, one-of-a-kind bags. Built in Chico, California, each series is limited by the quantity of available material. Each bag is stamped with the lot size and its unique number within the lot.

For this first series they re-purposed reclaimed US Army tents. You can get them now from Chrome SF, NYC and Chicago shops – limited to 40 bags per store – or through select dealers.

Upper Playground x Chrome Artist Series Messenger Bags | Sam Flores, Jeremy Fish

Upper Playground and Chrome chose to feature the work of Sam Flores and Jeremy Fish, both San Francisco based artists whose art speaks to the bicycle subculture. Flores and Fish have created compelling designs that are embroidered on the front flap of the Chrome Bag. Jeremy Fish’s “Fowl Mood” design features an elaborate owl “wall paper” pattern, while Sam Flores’ “Angel of Death” art features one of his signature characters riding a bicycle amongst the clouds. This project has enabled both brands to fuse contemporary art with durable design. The Upper Playground & Chrome artist series messenger bags are available in limited quantities and will be sold exclusively at select lifestyle boutiques and through Upper Playground and Chrome retail stores.

More detailed images of the Upper Playground x Chrome Artist Series Messenger Bags follow after the jump.

Chrome Fall 2009 Footwear Collection

Iconic messenger bag label Chrome makes their footwear debut this Fall. Committed to using the best materials, hardware and design, a number of bike specific features were worked into the sneakers, including: a Propulsion Plate stiffener to support the midsole with a slam pad; Cordura laces with steel aglets; reflective heel patch; and a small lip at the toe to assist flipping into pedals. There’s not a lot of nonsense in Chrome’s gear, just materials and construction that serve a purpose and are built to last. The footwear collection consists of low, mid and hi-cut sneakers with an earthy, red accented color palette. Available early September at Open Bicycle.

Check out more from the Chrome Fall 2009 Footwear Collection after the jump.
