Converse is hosting together with Lodown Magazine a BBQ event in Berlin tomorrow night. For the occasion they produced a Parra designed Chuck Taylor Hi, in line with the “Simply the Wurst” theme of the event. The Chuck Taylor Hi is limited to only 100 pairs and will be given out to friends and family.

Converse Japan presents their latest releases. The Chuck Taylor comes in lots of new colorways, materials and designs. The selection is large and each style also comes in several colorways. We especially like this month’s Jack Purcell line-up, including simple polka dot looks, as well as nicely worn-in styles, both coming in canvas.

Inspired by the artwork from the 1977 “Animals” album, Pink Floyd has created a pack of two Chuck Taylors with Converse. The design comes both on the Chuck Taylor Low and Chuck Taylor High. Both sneakers are releasing this week at the Converse Store London.

For Spring/Summer 2010, Converse and luxury Italian brand Missoni linked up to produce a capsule collection of sneakers. The Premium Chuck Hi Missoni will feature the brands infamous zigzag pattern on the upper. Look out for the sneakers to appear in stores from beginning of 2010. Via WWD.

We have already seen many additions on the classic Converse Chuck Taylor and for Fall/Winter 2009 they are introducing yet another new one – the double ankle strap. Converse has always managed to add and tweak the classic design in order to make it right for the times. “Ankle straps are the heat at the moment! Alright, so let’s add those!”. We can only imagine it went like that. We cannot say that we are huge fans of these, not even because we think they look bad, it just feels weird to jump the train of ankle straps this way.

Well, those were our 5 cents on the topic. The sneaker comes in several colorways next season, ranging from more subtle white, to more flashy black/metallic gold options.

Next to AC/DC, Converse presents Metallica as part of their Fall 2009 music collaborations. High-tops serve as the perfect backdrop for some of the most classic graphics and logos in music history. Ride the Lightning album graphics look simple and clean with appliqué embossed patch graphics on the classic Chuck Taylor All Star sneaker. Subtle details like logo tongue patches and midsole graphics take the band’s iconography a step beyond.

Metallica Chuck Taylor All Star high top shoes are available in black/multi and white/black. The Metallica collaboration sneakers will be released in July.

Converse continues their music collaborations and got together with AC/DC for Fall 2009. Chuck Taylor All Star shoes are the foundation of the collection. A monochromatic black version is a simple, cool tribute to the landmark album Back in Black, complete with stitched band and album logos. Another model in ultra-premium leather includes “Back in Black” embossed on the upper, iced outsoles and a black band logo bumper on the shoe’s sidewall. Graphics from Those About to Rock and the iconic image of Angus and the words “Lock Up Your Daughters” are both a rocker’s dream. The Highway to Hell album rounds out the AC/DC Chuck Taylor All Star collection with a super premium high-top with the band logo both on a side bumper and visible through its clean iced-outsole.

AC/DC Chuck Taylor All Star high top shoes are available in black, black/multi, red/white and black AC/DC print canvas versions. The sneakers hit stores beginning of June.

After an initial preview a couple of days ago, we show now more detailed images of the Converse Chuck Taylor Pack by Woolrich. The heritage fashion brand produced a Chuck Taylor High and a Chuck Taylor Low, both come in blue and red plaid versions. The sneakers could not better reflect the design values of Woolrich. The pack will be hitting store 1rst of August.

Today we come across the Unrivaled x Converse Chuck Taylor. To be honest we cannot tell you if this is a custom or an actual collaboration between the two brands. Either way, the outcome is pretty interesting. Unrivaled added a leather patch and beads to the classic black canvas Converse Chuck Taylor Hi. It is now available at Elt.

In an interesting collaboration Converse gets together with Woolrich, the heritage brand. The collaboration collection consists of overall 4 sneakers. The Chuck Taylor All Star comes in both low and high versions with plaid uppers and waxed black laces, white leather branding. The Poor Man Pro Team and the Weapon 86 come in corduroy versions. All four look good, even though we lean more towards the Chuck Taylors.
