The Away Project by colette

When it comes to these kinds of projects nobody can mess with Parisian concept store colette. Just a couple of weeks ago Nike presented its new French Away Team Kit, paying homage to the iconic white/navy striped pattern, made famous as well by designers such as Jean-Paul Gaultier. I think we can all agree that the jersey came out very nice.

With The Away Project, colette is celebrating the Away Kit by bringing on collaborators from all sorts of areas, presenting their product also with the “mariniere” striped pattern. Included in the line-up of collaborations is a watch with Swatch, pen with Montblanc, perfume with Comme des Garcons, bag with Longchamp and Chanel, scarf with Hermes, macarons with Laduree, cosmetics with YSL and more.

colette will setup a fully striped corner on their 1st floor on March 28th and the project runs until April 9th.

Now head on after the jump to see all the product from The Away Project.

Chanel x colette Pop-Up Opening with Kevin Lyons

Today we had a chance to visit the opening of the Chanel Pop-Up shop hosted in collaboration with colette. On display were an assortment of classic Chanel products, such as quilted bags, leather gloves and various apparel. Guests were treated to cupcakes, and artist Kevin Lyons, who recent held an exhibition at the shop, was on hand customizing bags and adding Chanel influenced imagery to the space. Overall an impressive event with many more to follow. The pop-up store is also located close to the colette store, so make sure to pass by.

Parisian boutique colette teams with Reebok on an exclusive Court Victory Pump. No surprise here, colette applies their signature blue color to various locations on the shoe, as well as adding their namesake and logo. The black nubuck is a solid departure from your standard Pump release. Look for a mid-March drop.

Kevin Lyons Exhibition at colette – Recap

31 January 2011, 23.36 | Posted in Art, Events | No comments »

kevin lyons exhibition at colette paris

Today the latest exhibition of artist Kevin Lyons opened its doors at concept store colette in Paris.

“Kevin’s latest show for colette consists of a number of drawings, illustrations, paintings, prints, and installations that explore the vibrant, colorful language of reggae and dancehall culture. Both a student and an avid collector of early reggae and rock steady, Lyons combines his formal interests and skills in illustrated simple characters, bold typography, and the fun rolling poetry of the language itself. The sheer volume, variety and repetition of this poetry and the visual screaming monsters who repeat it al throughout the space creates its own silly but heartfelt rhythm. Dancehall style bump and grind is encouraged.”

Tonight the new WeSC x Fatsarazzi Collection was also launched at colette. As you can imagine, the crowds came out for the two events. The exhibition is running until February 26th.

La MJC x colette “Vivre Sans Temps Mort” New Balance 1500 Sneakers

Paris creative agency La MJC and colette got together with New Balance to create the “Vivre Sans Temps Mort” 1500 sneaker. The slogan used for the sneaker is one of the core slogans of the agency since the very beginning and describes a state of mind that is restless. The upper of the sneaker comes in a nice red/white/grey combination, using lots of premium leathers and mesh. Produced in the Flimby factory in the UK, the sneakers will be released at colette and in the Cool Cats online store December 18th.

More images of the sneakers follow after the jump.
