After announcing the collaborative range by Bape and Comme des Garcons PLAY last week, we can finally give you a look at some first pieces of the collection. As it turns out these were not real.

UPDATE: We just got word from the Bape Marketing department that the t-shirts shown here are actually fake. Sorry for the confusion guys and congrats to who ever did it, they came out pretty good. Hopefully we can soon show you the real collaboration between the two brands. The official collection by the two brands will be revealed on March 8th, 2012, and seems to be exclusive to the new Dover Street Market Ginza. For now only the above mashed logo design is official.

Today Bape informs us about their next collaboration and this one comes as a surprise, we have to admit. They will be releasing a collaborative offering with the Comme des Garcons PLAY line. The above graphic might give a first hint at how things will look. Of course we will keep you posted on the collection, as first images of it become available.

The popular Comme des Garcons PLAY Collection returns in Spring/Summer 2012 with new looks. For the season they present polka dot and striped designs, both very typical for the Japanese brand. Of course all of them come with the iconic heart logo that is found on all PLAY garments. You can purchase all polka dot and striped t-shirts now in the Dover Street Market online store.

Cathy Horyn of The New York Times reports on Matt Groening’s forthcoming collaboration with Comme des Garcons PLAY in a story entitled “Binky and Sheba, Meet Rei.”

“I happened to see these new “Life in Hell” T-shirts—a collaboration between Rei Kawakubo and Matt Groening, the creator of the comic strip and, of course, “The Simpsons”—when I was visiting the Comme des Garçons showroom in Paris early this week. I thought they were quite sweet and demented, even if you don’t love rabbits.”

The four shirts seen above will be available in Comme des Garcons stores starting March 15, 2011.

This weekend Dover Street Market (storeguide) re-opened its doors with a series of new spaces and collections for Spring/Summer 2011. Here we take a look at the new t-shirt range by Comme des Garcons PLAY. The brand continues to play with the same heart graphics that we have seen every season since its debut. The seasonal colors are white and grey with gold foil prints.

Comme des Garçons PLAY pops up in the Causeway Bay, Hong Kong EXI.T shop. “With basically no buildout, the shop maintains the raw industrial feeling that Comme des Garçons brings to many of its locations. And as for product, it is carrying a limited line of 5 tees, which you can get a peek at in the pictures.” Open until August 1, 2010 at 5 Pak Sha Road, Causeway Bay, 5 G.

New items from the Comme des Garcons PLAY Fall/Winter 2009 Collection have been released. They stick to their heart designs and just slightly updated them for the new season. Three new t-shirts are now available from colette.

This season Comme des Garcons PLAY worked with Converse on a series of Chuck Taylors. Just like with the entire collection, they also kept it simple with the sneakers and only added their red heart logo to a black and a white Chuck Taylor Hi and Lo. All four sneakers are now available at Bobos.

New from Comme des Garcons PLAY are these light wheigt summer blousons. They come in beige, red and blue and of course feature the PLAY logo heart. The jackets are now available at Cliff Edge.

Converse gets together with Comme des Garcons PLAY on overall four sneakers. They worked on the Chuck Taylor and the Chuck Taylor High, each coming in a white and a black colorway. All sneaker feature the PLAY heart logo as a print. On the Chuck Taylor High’s, the round Converse Chuck Taylor logo is embroidered. The white sneakers feature a black stripe on the heel and the black sneakers feature a white stripe on the heel. As a final touch, both logos appear on the inner sole.

The Converse x Comme des Garcons PLAY Chuck Taylor Pack will be released in July at RS1. They will also be offering them online with worldwide shipping. Mark your calendars.
