As usual the Super Bowl brought along a series of great new TV commercials this year. Some better than others, the car makers were again among the most active in the field. Over the last two weeks we have already presented some appealing spots. Now that the Super Bowl is over, the New York Giants have won this year, we can give you a nice recap of the best spots that aired this year.

Pharrell still surprises us and aside from producing music, continues to satisfy his creative inner beast with other interesting projects. The latest one you see here below – he produced the music to the new Lanvin Spring/Summer 2012 Ad Campaign. The imagery and video was produced by Steven Meisel. Lanvin once again surprises with an interesting and unexpected ad campaign this season.

“An exotic and festive dinner party.
Who will take a bite of the forbidden apple?: the angel or the snake???
You can always count on Lanvin to shake up the party!

Music: 18 year old Bronx, NY-born artist Maxine Ashley first caught the attention of super-producer Pharrell Williams on YouTube. Immediately impressed with her signature sound, soulful vocals with an edgy pop attitude, he signed her to his record label, i am OTHER entertainment. “Cookieman,” written and produced by Pharrell, is the first single off of Maxine’s upcoming debut album.”

Honda Brings Ferris Bueller to Super Bowl and presents the official commercial for the 2012 Honda CR-V. Here above you can see the official game day commercial.

Honda’s ad already sparked mass conversation thanks to last Thursday’s teaser. The commercial, directed by Todd Phillips (Old School, The Hangover, Due Date, etc.), features Matthew Broderick playing himself in a grown-up version of his celebrated role as Ferris Bueller alongside the all-new 2012 CR-V. Using themes from the original film to bring Honda’s “Leap List” campaign to life, the spot is meant to reinforce how the CR-V helps consumers conquer their aspirations before life’s next big phase.

True fans may also spot dozens of “Easter Eggs” hidden in the commercial that pay homage to the original film; fans are encouraged to join the conversation at Facebook.com/HondaCRV.

Volkswagen previews their 2012 Game Day Commercial today and they continue with the Star Wars theme that was introduced in earlier commercials in 2011 already. adidas Basketball releases its latest commercial to introduce the new Derrick Rose signature shoe – the adiZero Rose 2. Filmed in Madrid, the spot opens with Derrick released from a gate as ”The Bull” to a frenzied crowd in a bullfighting arena.  After sizing up matador and picadors, Derrick drives into the bullring in his signature shoes using his speed, agility and strength to blow by and overpower opponents that represent his real on-court rivals. In an interesting team-up, Union Los Angeles gets together with marketing master Reggieknow for “Mousetrap”, a video lookbook for the Union LA and Fashion Figure Inc. collaboration. Chris and Reggieknow both star in the short, which is part film and part guerilla lookbook for their t-shirt and shoe collaboration, collector vintage Fila and 80’s style.

““Mousetrap” is a Carte Blanche agency produced film headed by Kwesi Thomas and directed by Reggieknow. Reggieknow describes the plot as a cheesy 2011 love story told in a 1986 fashion. The films begins when Chris and Reggieknow unexpectedly meet the leader of the “Mousetrap Club” The lead “mousetrapketeer” has a business of her own with no interest in Chris at first. She distracts Chris from his loyal worker Reggieknow who wants to expand the Union L.A. business by adding Fashion Figure Inc. to their lists of operations, an idea that parallels their real life collaboration. Chris invites the “mousetrapketeers” over to his “trap house” (a street term for where one runs illegal business) where the courtship continues with the company of more “mousetrapketeers”.

We have said enough, you just have to watch it. Enjoy!

Sprite Zero produced an interesting interactive commercial, allowing the user to control the skateboarder in the video with your number keys, 4-9, on the keyboard. Filmed in Berlin, the skater performs several tricks and ends up jumping into the Spree river. With the number keys you can decide on the combination of tricks. Pretty cool production, so make sure to try it out!
