Converse continues its successful collaboration with Finish design house Marimekko for Holiday 2011. Prints selected for the holiday collaboration include both timeless Marimekko classics as well as newer designs created by influential Marimekko designers Maija Isola and Maija Louekari. The prints are featured on the Jack Purcell Helen, the Chuck Taylor All Star and the Chuck Taylor All Star PJ sneakers.

The Converse x Marimekko collection will be available nationwide and globally at premium retail outlets and online at www.converse.com beginning in October 2011.

For October 2011, Converse Japan presents the All Star Hunting Collection. Heavily inspired by the outdoors, they once again manage to re-invent the classic All Star Chuck Taylor in all sorts of different ways.

From heavy canvas and leather lace options, to hunting camouflage versions, hunting jacket inspiration, full fur uppers and hybrid high top/low top boots, the Japanese get very creative with the sneaker. The Hunting Print Chuck Taylor, Heavy Canvas versions and of course the Hunting Camo version are our personal favorites in the line-up.

For their latest First String release, Converse joins forces with the family run, Italian fashion house Missoni once again to produce another stunning pair of Chuck Taylor Hi’s. Launching October 1, 2011 at hanon alongside the blue-accented colorway.

Well, for some reason a good camo will still always get our attention. That is the case with this new Converse Jack Purcell ‘Hunter Camo’, which is releasing in Japan this month. A durable cotton ripstop material covers the all camouflage upper, sitting on a clean white outer sole. Something to look out for! (Via Universe)

Converse release this new suede version of their First Strong model, that’s part of their top tier First String program. The shoe has a heavy suede upper and a Lunarlon drop-in construction sole, as it comes in brown and natural colorways. Haven have these available now in-store and online.

Converse is working with designer Ryusaku Hiruma of sak once again, this time on a handmade pair of Dr. J Pro Leather sneakers for Fall 2011.

“The Pro Leather shoe changed the basketball sneaker forever. It was worn by Dr J who ushered in the modern era of the game and, back-in the-day, the man and the shoe represented effortless style with remarkable technical skill. In that spirit, we are excited to debut this shoe which fuses sak’s unparalleled skills as a craftsman and the legendary Pro Leather shoe to create a stylish work of art,” says Ian Ginoza, Converse Director of First String and Special Projects.

The sak sneaker features rich, supple, natural brown Italian leather, hand-stitched from upper and rand to insole including leather soles with ink-printed logos and trademark Pro Leather details.

Last week we reported about the opening of the new Undefeated San Francisco flagship store in the former Huf location. Today we can give you a preview of the exclusive product that they will be releasing for the occasion.

Next to a special make-up Converse Poorman’s Weapon sneaker, they will drop two caps and two t-shirts. All products come in San Francisco Giants colors and are also graphically inspired by the Giants.

We get a first look at the upcoming range of the Japan only Converse Addict Collection. The premium All Star Chuck Taylor Hi sneakers come in metallic gold and silver leather options and with Vibram outer soles this season. Overall there seems to be a little bit of a Daft Punk inspiration going on here, showcased through matching masks in the above lookbook image. Hopefully we can soon show you better images of the range.

Today Eddie Cruz from Undefeated finally announced the opening date of their new San Francisco store. Taking the old Huf location, the transition for locals will be an easy one. Of course Undefeated has some special products ready to be released on the opening, including a Converse sneaker and some caps, as teased by Cruz through Twitter this week.

Honoring the legend of Julius “Dr. J” Erving and the shoe he made history in, Converse recreates the classic silhouette in two all-new premium crafted versions using ultra-premium Horween Chomexcel® Leather from the legendary Chicago-based tannery.

For this special release, Converse borrows Horween’s Chomexcel leather and the results are ultra-luxurious versions of the Pro Leather shoe that look clean and understated. First to release is a rich black version with burgundy accents, followed by a burgundy version with black accents. All of the shoes in the Converse Dr. J First String Standards collection will feature the words “Dr. J” subtly embossed in gold foil on the leather upper.

Fewer than 400 pairs of each of the Horween leather versions will be available, with the black shoe launching September 10, 2011 and the burgundy version in November.
