For Fall 2011 Crooked Tongues teamed up with New Balance on the Made in England 1500 running shoe. They present the sneaker in two colorways, both featuring premium materials and nice color blocking details on the upper. The choice of color is a refreshing take on the classic, that are easy to wear, yet still stand out. The sneakers will be released on CrookedTongues.com on October 15th, with other premium stockists getting them a week later.

Crooked Tongues gives us an official run down of the Infrared Air Max 90 Hyperfuse that appeared at their BBQ the other day.
The Hyperfuse’s layered upper lets you look at a shoe that’s instantly recognisable in a different way, but crucially, it makes that Infrared POP. That POP twinned with neutral shades is the key to the best looks in any OG Air Max 90 colourway, and this here is a remix done properly. …
But you can’t buy them. That’s usually bad news, but if you attended the Crooked Tongues and Nike Sportswear CT BBQ yesterday, they were up for grabs as a giveaway. [...] If you attended the BBQ yesterday, shot a picture of your feet with your UK shoe size and #CTNSWBBQ2011 you were in with a chance of winning. …
Custom CT BBQ labeling on the box and “Infrared” Crooked/Nike Sportswear BBQ aprons in the package too (while stocks last) makes them doubly exclusive.
A strong look, and a few pairs are still waiting to be claimed!

Today we attended the 10th edition of the infamous Crooked Tongues BBQ in London. Hosted by the sneaker site and by Reebok this year, the London scene was invited for drinks and snacks in a nice off location. DJ’s and good music were of course also in place and crowded is not even the word – from 1pm until 12am people were pretty much non-stop standing in line to get in. Congrats to the 10th anniversary and to a successul party.

Addict gets together with Crooked Tongues to celebrate the website’s 10th anniversary. They enlisted C-Law to design part of the collection, which consists of a mountain parka, shirts, as well as t-shirts. The t-shirts feature graphics by Joe Limauro. Each piece comes in a series of colorways and our favorite piece is certainly the jacket. Look out for a release soon.

The Foothills Project is a collaboration between online sneaker resource Crooked Tongues and skate footwear legends éS. Feeling as though a certain safety in the industry has taken the edge out of sneaker design, they’ve created a new shoe from scratch, taking it “back to before the basics”. Tapping a mutual preoccupation with hiking aesthetics, the two brands drew inspiration from the rolling green foothills that form the backdrop of éS headquarters, and coordinated them with contemporary skate shoe styling. At base level, traditional materials were implemented – brushed rubber, pig suedes, meshes, ripstop polyester, weave canvas, oiled nubucks and full grain pebble leathers – and then built on with quick dry linings and correlating colors.
Each of the shoes also gets its own accessory that is sold separately. “The black/purple option is coordinated with a matching 3-layer jacket, fully taped, with a contrasting application on the waterproofed zips that doesn’t compromise the stealthy looks. The brown/orange shoe gets a ripstop cap that riffs on decades of durable headwear. Lastly, the grey/pink shoe matches an Oxford weave backpack – perfect for day-to-day essentials or luggage carry-on.” The full collection is now available at Crooked Tongues and at a very select group of retailers the world over.
In true CT style, the fellows have detailed the entire process on their site in a mammoth editorial. To learn all you could ever want to know about this project hit up crookedtongues.com/editorial/

The third and final drop of the 3Way Consortium project from adidas Originals sees the series heading East for a work around between some of the most respected sneaker retailers and influencers of the region.
With the choice of working on the 5 models together in whatever manner they chose Acu, Crooked Tongues (London based but with strong ties to Thailand), D-Mop and VA decided to pair up on two shoes each and all collaborate together on the fifth. The 5 retailers worked on the Samba, Forum Mid, Nizza, Stan Smith and the Superstar, all together covering the most prominent sneakers in the adidas Originals catalogue. The sneakers will go on sale at adidas Consortium retailers on July 18th.

Crooked Tongues got together with eS to work on the new Foothills shoe. Rather than going for a simple regular skate sneaker, they combined early 90’s trail themes and eS’s history of skate tech with modern elements of sneaker design. The Foothills shoe will be coming in three colorways, as well as a series of matching accessories this August.

After the success of last September’s ‘Oktoberfest’ adidas x Crooked Tongues Munchen, legendary shoe designer Markus Thaler (one of the minds behind the legendary ZX range) joined the project to offer his own unique ‘outdoors’ take on the cult silhouette.
A premium material mix, a new approach to panelling, covered tongue, D-Ring fastenings and a forefoot with duck boot design cues are bolstered by some eccentric detailing. As a Bavarian, Markus knows the
area’s aesthetic far better than we ever could, and he takes the upper of this late ‘70’s training shape into off-road, woodland territory, set on the familiar cup sole.
Limited to just 150 pairs exclusively from the Crooked Tongues store, the adidas x Crooked Tongues ‘VIP’ Munchen is on sale now via the Crooked Tongues online store.
