nike air force 1 kanye west 808 heartbreak 1 Nike Air Force 1 Kanye West 808s & Heartbreak Custom

We are not reporting much about custom sneakers. The reason is not, because we do not appreciate it, but we just feel like, once you start, it never ends and therefore we leave the topic mostly out.

Today we came across this Air Force 1 “Kanye West 808s & Heartbreak” custom, and we just had to show it to you. Mixing the signature Kanye check suit with the Kaws artwork from his latest album turned out really nice on these. The AF1 was customized by Mache. He even hints at the Lego hearts by Dee & Ricky on the tongue. Beautiful work!

Take a more detailed look after the jump.

SBTG x Lazy | The Paramount Dunk

16 June 2008, 18.28 | Posted in Sneakers | No comments »

highsnobiety - sbtg x lazy paramount dunk
Last week we gave you a first preview of the SBTG x Lazy Paramount Dunk and today we can show you images of a 1 of 1 Paramount Dunk, which turned out very impressive and will be used for the final model.
Using selvage denim was always mandatory for a customade sneaker and hunting a specific "gucci" selvage with black denim was like a dream come true.
Selvage is desirable because the edge can’t fray like lower grade denims that have separate wefts which leave an open edge that must be stitched. In this case, the selvage sits perfectly on the top of the midsoles like its supposed to be aesthetically. Seeing the denim fray on the midsole is simply blasphemous.
The beauty of it all is that an exposed selvage lining on the midsole can only be achieved through a D.I.Y. process due to the nature of the denim and the sneaker panel curves. It is a very tedious process.
Maintaining an understated look by leaving all the uppers black. leaving the focus on the midsole area which forms a perfect layer cake "green, red, green, off white, black stitching & lastly, gumsoles.
Lastly, a final touch of finesse, a black snakeskin swoosh. We especiallyenjoy that the sneaker does not come with any graphics, and that they concentrated on the right material mix.The outcome is a beautiful sneaker. The final model will also be coming with Starks Laces and of course with the input of Lazy. Expect it to be soon released at Royalefam.
When you create a custom that looks like a premium production model, you know you did something right!
Check out many more detailed images after the jump.

Nike Air Max Light x Porsche GT3 RS

12 January 2008, 20.25 | Posted in Sneakers | 1 comment »

Nike Air Max Light x Porsche GT3 RS
Here we present you an interesting custom project initiated by Purchaze from Germany – they created Nike Air Max Lights with the design based on the Porsche GT3 RS.
“One day in history, Purchaze had his opening in Groningen at the 1st of September. On this day, the Purchaze owners met the Leyp staff and the owners of the Porsche store in Groningen. As a reflecton of the top quality, concerning their products and their service, the Purchaze store had a Porsche Cayman S for the promo team driving around. As a service back to the Porsche crew, Purchaze created the Nike Air Max Light GT3 RS. This car is being put on the market in four colors (silver, black, green and orange) and these colorways are also retraceable in the four pairs Purchaze and Leyp created together with Porsche. Just check all the details: You will find also the Porsche-Logo on the tongue.
On the 27th of December Leyp and Purchaze presented the four pairs to the Porsche staff, who are going to wear these kicks in their maintenance crew of the racing team. All of the Porsche members were very thrilled about their GT3 RS shoes, also because these are even rarer than the exclusive cars they make. These shoes are going to be presented in the newsletter of Porsche Netherlands.”
We particularly enjoy how simpe they kept the design and translated the essentials of the car onto the sneakers. Have a look at all colorways in detail after the jump.

PRPS Sea Blue Flannel

09 January 2008, 13.44 | Posted in Fashion | No comments »

PRPS Sea Blue Flannel Shirt
We have seen more flannels this Fall/Winter season than in the past 10 years all together. They came of course in the form of shirts, sneakers, bags, accessories, jackets, you name it. Without wanting to bore you, we still do have to show you this fresh flannel shirt by PRPS. The sea blue color looks nice, but what makes this shirt stand out is the approach and amount of customization. It almost feels like the people from PRPS took the same approach as with their denim – lots of custom work, adding value to an otherwise pretty basic product. On the pockets, cuffs and other spots there are nice embroideries smartly changing the look of the shirt.
Definitely one of the best flannel shirts we have come across this season. It is now available at Commonwealth.

Puma got together with Oki-Ni to create the Bespoke collection. It takes inspiration London’s Saville Row, which is famous for its tailors and custom clothing. With the Bespoke collection Puma classics have been re-interpreted in a classic British way. The outcome is a stunning collection that is both visually interesting and in terms of quality outstanding.
Part of the first collection is a track jacket, several hats, a hooded jacket and of course sneakers. Each piece combines the integrity of classic Puma design with the best fabrics and leathers.
The Bespoke collection will be available exclusively for purchase at oki-ni on-line, at a guerilla store in London and the PUMA Black Store in New York’s meatpacking district beginning September 2007. Via Sneaker Freaker.
