Fairdale Bikes has proposed a solution to those of us who like to cycle to the skate spot, but don’t want to rock a board bag or carry your deck in-hand like a real man. “Simply mount this pannier on to most existing rear carrier racks and throw your board on for the ride. A cushioned rubber coating keeps your board from rattling around and holds your board securely. The rack positions the board behind the rear axle to keep your heels from hitting it, and keeps the center of gravity low.” In stock now at Fairdale.

Cycling blogger Prolly shares a look into the new Levi’s cycling collection, which includes jeans and a denim jacket, both of which employ a proprietary nanosphere treatment that keeps them stain and smell-free. The jeans also include a zipper stash pocket, an integrated U-lock holster, 3M lining on the cuff, a gusseted crotch and a higher-cut back. The jacket has back vents, 3 jersey pockets, a scooped tail, and reinforced accordion sleeves. “Let’s just say they covered all the bases and while denim might not be a traditional material for cycling-related apparel, these jackets are a huge improvement over riding in the standard jackets.”

This past weekend MASH took over Project Space to display work from the 2009 Tour of California.

MASH rider Walton Brush came in first in the fixed-gear only race from Echo Park to Project Space that preceded the event. The short jaunt was a proverbial walk in the park compared to the 750-mile course he journeyed as a barely-legal rider with MASH on the 2009 Tour.

The event also hosted the premiere of a new 12-minute video short of footage and reflections from the MASH team during the 2009 Tour. The crowd grew steadily over the course of the evening, taking time to socialize, revisit the MASH journey through the photographs and displays and enjoy giveaways courtesy of MASH, Incase and Arkitip.

DVS announces their first cycling specific skate shoe. Designed in collaboration with influential cycling brand, Cadence, the Milan CTC (Classic Tribute Cycling) has several bike specific performance and durability features that have never been used on a traditional skate shoe including: reflective detailing for nocturnal visibility, a stiffer lasting board that reduces leg fatigue and increases pedal stroke strength, and a specially designed pattern on the tongue that protects laces from toe cage damage.

The shoe functions equally as well as a skate shoe with all the skate-specific features found in a standard Milan and will be available at select skate and bike retail stores in May 2010.

We get a first look at the upcoming team kit of the Mudfooter Cycling Team from Los Angeles. The kit consists of a jersey short- and longsleeve, matching shorts, a t-shirt and also matching socks. All pieces feature artwork by Geoff McFretridge. They will be wearing the kit from October 2009.
