Last week we reported about David Choe being paid in 2005 in stock by Facebook, for painting murals in their offices. That stock might become worth 200 Million USD, after Facebook’s IPO and official stock market listing. As some of you may already know, all Gagosian Galleries around the globe will launch the Damien Hirst ‘The Complete Spot Paintins 1986-2011′ exhibition on January 12th, 2012. All 11 locations of the prominent gallery around the globe, will be host to the work of the English superstar artist and his spot paintings.

Today Gagosian announced the ‘The Complete Spot Challenge’. Anybody can participate and win a signed Damien Hirst spot print dedicated personally to you. All you have to do is visit all 11 Gagosian Galleries in Paris, Rome, New York, Hong Kong, Los Angeles, Athens, Geneva, London and Rome, while the exhibitions are running. Artist Damien Hirst presents an interesting new project. He gets together with Flea on a series of Spin Bass Guitars, featuring his iconic splash color design. The guitars will be launched on November 8th, 2011, at Other Criteria in London, with all proceeds from the sales going to the Silverlake conservatory of music.

Auction house Christie’s will be teaming up with Japanese artist Takashi Murakami and his company Kaikai Kiki Co., Ltd. to support the victims of the March 11, 2011 Tohoku-Pacific earthquake in Japan. For the occasion a dedicated section of their November 9th, 2011, auction in New York was given to Murakami. Murakami contributed works himself to be auction off and chose other works from some of contemporary art’s biggest names to support the event. Works by Zeng Fanzhi, Mark Grotjahn, Damien Hirst, Thomas Houseago, KAWS, Jeff Koons, Friedrich Kunath, Mr., Takashi Murakami, Yoshitomo Nara, Gabriel Orozco, Anselm Reyle, Cindy Sherman, Aya Takano, and Luc Tuymans will be part of the sale.

Gagosian Gallery will be holding a preview of the works from the auction, from Wednesday, October 26th to Friday, October 28th at their Madison Avenue Gallery in New York.

The much anticipated Garage Magazine will release its first issue for Fall/Winter 2011. Named after the art space that founder Dasha Zhukova opened in 2008 in Moscow, nobody really knows what to expect from the fashion/art magazine, yet expectations are certainly high. The art director of German 032c magazine is also the new art director of Garage magazine and the three covers for the first issue, only hint at the high profile talent that the magazine managed to bring together for its first issue.

Artist Dinos Chapman worked with photographer Nick Knight, Hedi Slimane photographed a naked model (Shauna Taylor) having a Damien Hirst butterfly tattoo on her crotch, which is covered by a removable Damien Hirst butterfly sticker on the cover. And last but not least Richard Prince also created an artwork for the a third cover. A launch of the magazine is expected during New York Fashion Week 2011, early September.

Damien Hirst will be releasing the Supreme skateboard decks, that he produced with the New York brand in 2009, at his Other Criteria store in London. For the occasion the artist customized 40 decks, adding his original signature and some drawings to each deck.

The decks will be available in store from Tuesday, July 12th and a limited amount will be made available online from July 14th, 10am.

Damien Hirst has released the “For the Love of God” book in his Other Criteria store.

“For the Love of God is comprised of 16 pages with text by Damien Hirst himself. The art is in the printing, with tonal lettering making the discovery of Hirst’s words a rewarding challenge. The book comes with soft cover and a three stitched spine.”

UK artist Damien Hirst has released two new t-shirts with his iconic “Medicine” theme. The t-shirts comes in white with large prints on the front and the artist’s signature on the back. They are now in stock at Other Criteria.

Starting November 5th, colette will offer an exclusive Chuck Taylor All Star shoe designed by British artist Damien Hirst for Converse (PRODUCT)RED. Drawing from his “All You Need is Love” painting, sold at auction in 2007 for RED, the shoes are featured in red with blue and yellow butterflies throughout. Limited to 400 pairs worldwide.

In the meantime, Other Criteria, the publishing company headed up by Damien Hirst and Hugh Allan will be hosted at colette. Other Criteria at colette will display Damien Hirst’s previously unseen new print, titled Big Love, a diamond dusted blood red colored heart with his signature butterflies (check it out at Curated) alongside a selection of quintessential Other Criteria releases.

“Damien Hirst’s bespoke 4×4 wheel cover consists of a high quality stainless steel band covering the tyre tread and a high impact plastic central dish wrapped with the artist’s spin painting design.

British artist Damien Hirst designed an Audi A1 for Sir Elton John’s AIDS Foundation (EJAF) annual White Tie and Tiara Ball. Marking the 8th year of Audi’s support, Hirst spin painted the Candyfloss Pink A1 together with a 1.8-meter high canvas. The two pieces were auctioned off together for 420 000 Euros. The compact hatchback Audi A1 will be available in November 2010.

Despite growing criticism, artist Damien Hirst pushes on with another wave of consumables. “Hirst will sell $425 deck chars at the New York and London Other Criteria Editions stores. The folding chairs — which come in lime-green, yellow, sky-blue, red, orange, and black — have a merpauh frame, a smattering of butterflies across their cloth front, and, of course, a stainless-steel plaque inscribed with Hirst’s signature.”

Today Louis Vuitton will be opening its new Maison London, a store concept which was previously reserved to its home town Paris. The massive store cost over 30 Million Pounds and is nothing short of impressive. You can of course expect an incredible selection of LV products in the new store. For us most impressive is the amount of original art that you will be able to witness at the new maison. The new store showcases art by Damien Hirst, Jeff Koons, Takashi Murakami, Michael Landy and others. Depending on the artist, you will find paintings, sculptures and installations on showcase.

Produced for the occasion of Damien Hirst’s Cornucopia exhibition at the Musée Océanographique de Monaco in April 2010 is this solid silver turtle with D/E quality diamonds in each eye. The amphibian is packaged in a white leather box with black acetate lining and a silver foil embossed lid. Each piece is engraved with Hirst’s signature, an edition number and is hallmarked underneath. Turtle dimensions: 80 x 80 x 25 mm. Edition of 35 + 5APs. Now available at Other Criteria.
