Air Jordan 1 Retro High Dave White To Launch February 2012

Air Jordan 1 Retro High Dave White To Launch February 2012

Dave White’s first Air Jordan 1 Retro design was a masterpiece. His American flag-inspired shoes caused a stir at All-Star Weekend, and he mentored kids at Inglewood High School as part of his work with Jordan and WINGS for the Future.

White and Jordan are back again, and the result is the Air Jordan 1 High DW. These kicks feature the iconic Jordan black/sport red-white-cement grey colorway, and even bring in the elephant print on the forefoot laces-strap.

But it’s White’s trademark paint splatter and brush strokes that make this shoe stand out. The brand has also put together a Jordan DW WINGS crew T-shirt to commemorate the release.

The Dave White Air Jordan 1 Retro will be available in North America, Europe and China on February 11, 2012. In celebration of All-Star Week and WINGS, and another run will drop on February 24.

A detailed look at the sneakers, the packaging and the t-shirt follow after the jump.

Dave White x Air Jordan 1 Retro “WINGS for the Future” Sneakers

After having teamed up already earlier this year on an Air Jordan 1 Retro, Jordan Brand and Dave White have teamed up again on a limited edition version of the iconic sneaker. This time the sneaker features a black/red splatter design on an otherwise white upper with elephant print accents. Once again in support of the ‘WINGS for the Future’ education program, which is sponsored by Jordan Brand, an exact release date and number (the first ones were limited to only 23 pairs, which were auctioned off) have not been announced yet.

Detailed images of the sneaker follow after the jump.

Artist Dave White, best known for his sneaker paintings, teams with Jordan Brand on a limited run Jordan 1s. Curated reports -

Inspired by the Harlem Globetrotters and the good old Stars and Stripes, painter Dave White has moved away from the canvas and produced a limited run of 23 Jordan 1s. These special shoes will go up for auction this weekend – yup, All Star Weekend in LA – and proceeds benefit WINGS for the Future and Inglewood High School in Los Angeles.

Sole Collector met with Dave to discuss the project. Well worth heading here to read the interview. SC will also host the auction.
