When it comes to denim usually the US, Japan and also Scandinavia are in the highlight. France is not known for especially good denim, but of course in general for fashion. Atelier La Durance is changing that perception and bringing France into the high end denim game. Over the past couple of years the brand has slowly evolved and very carefully introduces new pieces every season, making sure the brand is heading the right direction. The way they have done that so far we can only appreciate.
Besides their standout denim, they also introduced denim jackets, cashmere v-neck sweaters and zip sweaters and hoodies, that come close in quality the Japanese Loopwheeler. Everything is about quality craftsmanship. When we look at the most recent items by the brand we are most impressed by their denim bags. They introduced two of those, made out of Japanese raw selvedge and premium leathers. Denim bags can go really wrong, which is not the case with these ones by Atelier La Durance – they show how it’s done!

A while ago New Era got together with the denim specialists from The Year Of to create some special New Era denim. Only 60 pairs were produced and a very small portion of those was available for purchase. We came across it this past week at the New Era Flagship store in NYC.
Of course New Era created matching denim fitted caps. The made a black and blue denim cap to go along with the denim. Check out detailed pictures of the denim and the caps after the jump.

Puma and Evisu stick together and bring out the next round of denim – this time in black. They come back with with the introduction of a sleek new line of tattooed black denim.
The denim comes in all black with the Evisu wave logo on the back pockets in a tonal grey tone. The womens denim has an embroidered heart on the front pocket, while the mens is actually hidden. Available women’s styles include skinny leg, boot cut, straight fit and the cinch mini skirt. Men’s jeans are available in regular fit, slim fit, loose fit and boot cut.

Once again Medicom gets together with Levi’s on a nice project. This time around they did not only create a Beabrick, they also made some raw denim with Bearbrick graphics and some t-shirts for this project. They made a special pair of 501’s. Other details include reflective material all along the denim and around the pockets. The pack is supposed to be released some time in August. Via O’logy.

Burton will be coming out with a Gore-Tex denim pack this Fall. The Authentic Denim Jacket and Authentic Denim pants come with washed denim and a red gore-tex inner lining. They also come with all sorts of other technical features – the jacket with a detachable hood and the pants with zippers and buttons to wear in differnt ways. From the pictures we cannot really say that we like the look of this pack, but technically its definitely interesting and maybe it looks worn better than here on the pics. The denim brand Sjobeck has just been relaunched a couple of weeks ago. Fast Eddie’s now received their Summer 2007 collection as well as selected pieces out of their Fall 2007 collection.
For the Summer delivery, there are two different styles of denim, each with two different washes, as well as nice tops and hats and shorts perfect for the summer weather. 
Also you can now pre-order the Fast Eddie’s x Sjobeck denim collaboration. The amount of details and quality is just incredible. Based off the Sjobeck MX-111 cut, the jean is produced entirely in Los Angeles from Cone Mills selvage.  Details include Scovill copper backed tacks and rivets, A&E thread throughout, blind stitched pocket lining, contrast thread bar tacking and tucked belt loops make for a truly indestructible jean with a ton of good old American value.

This year we have already presented a few items that were created for the 3 Year Anniversary of Caliroots, Stockholm. Here is another and there is more to come.
Caliroots has made quite a name for itself when it comes to denim. Their first series of raw and washed denim and especially their recently released Pantone Pack has been very well perceived and sold really fast. This time they created a very limited run of raw denim with gold thread embroidery to celebrate their 3 Year Anniversary. The pendant comes in a pack with a Cali Gold Pendant made by the one and only Bijules from NYC. How can you get your hands on it? It will be hard, but you can. The denim will be given to anybody purchasing the pendant and to friends and family! Release is this coming Wednesday, July 18th!

Once again Atmos and Levi’s get together. This time they worked on the NE503 denim and released two special styles that are exclusively available at Atmos Tokyo. They offer the denim as a dark used and mid used style. The denim features striped cotton inserts above the back pockets.
