We take an early look at the Yohji Yamamoto for Dr. Martens Fall/Winter 2009 boot line-up. The Japanese designer has already worked several seasons with the English shoe manufacturer and in most cases the outcome was pretty crazy.

Therefore we appreciate even more the outcome of next seasons collection. You still have the wild pattern element in the collection, but at the same time the designer also offers some more subtle styles, that are not any less interesting or new to the brand. From canvas uppers to herringbone patterns, the boots definitely get some new looks.

Every season Dr. Martens revisits one of their classic styles and gives it an upgrade. For Spring/Summer 2009 they chose to work on the Prism Adrian Tassle Loafer. It comes in a black and a white tonal colorway, as well as two suede versions, featuring colorful accents and a crisp white sole.

The much talked about Raf Simons x Dr. Martens Vintage 1461 shoes are about to come to stores. Here we give you a detailed look at all the colorways of the shoes. Raf Simons kept it classic and concentrated on the details, adding red stitching, interesting materials, colors and an embossed collaborative logo to the classic Dr. Martens

While we gave you a preview of the Dr. Martens x Stussy Fall 2009 collaboration boots, Selectism checked out the Dr. Martens x Raf Simons Fall/Winter 2009 Collection at Bread & Butter. The collection definitely goes into both extremes – from really disturbing loud designs to rather subtle basic looking footwear. Make up your own mind!

We are reporting live from the Bread & Butter tradeshow in Barcelona. As usual lots of interesting product is on display and today we show you one of the most interesting collaborations that we came across so far. Stussy has worked with Dr. Martens on a pack of three boots. They come in beige, brown and black, each featuring details in a more popping color, white sole and a subtle embossed Stussy logo on the heel. The Stussy logo also appears on the inner sole. A very solid collaboration that we cannot wait to be released. Expect a release some time in the late summer, early fall of 2009.

After introducing last season the Monochrome Collection, Dr. Martens presents for Spring/Summer 2009 the 1460 “Colors” collection. The classic 1460 8 eye boot comes in tonal colorways, with everything from the upper, to the sole and the details coming in red, blue, yellow or green.

The boots will be released soon at selected retailers around the globe. Only Oki-Ni will actually receive these in mens sizes though.

Born on April 1, 1960, the cherry red 8-hole Dr. Martens (the 1460) boot is nothing short of an icon. Celebrating the boots legacy, and its life in separate subcultures, Dr. Martens has invited a healthy number of artists to work from the 1460 canvas. Among the invited were Paul Smith, Vivienne Westwood, Chrome Hearts and Rick Owens. There are 69 of them in all (SSUR, United Bamboo, WK Interact, etc), and even one inspired by the late Stephen Sprouse. (Via Nylon Mag).

This season we have seen many interesting releases by Dr. Martens, mostly worthy upgrades to some of their classics. The Jungle Boot styling also returns into the collection, in the form of the Jungle Khan 8 Eye Boots. They come in two black colorways, as well as in light brown and beige suede. The way these are laced, we have seen also many times from Japanese brands, including Visvim.

Yohji Yamamoto’s Y’s collection once again worked with Dr. Martens this season. They reworked the Calf High Biker Boot and the 10 Eye Boot. Both come in a royal blue and in black.

Dr. Martens teams up with Japanese retailer Beams to produced a set of Wing Tip shoes. The shoes are made in the UK and come in a black/white leather and black suede colorway. Instant classics!
