In a few weeks, OHWOW will be opening their bookstore in New York City. Co-owner Al Moran shares a peek into a special bag produced by DRx for this occassion. “Aside from our publications, we’ll also be carrying some accessories and objects made for us by our friends and family. This backpack was produced for our grand opening by one of my closest friends Darren Romanelli. We’ve been talking about doing something together for a while now and I’m psyched that he found the time to develop a small line of bags and caps for us.” There’s definitely much more to come, and if you’re familiar with OHWOW, you know they have very talented friends and family. DRx (aka Dr. Romanelli) masterminded a collection of mix-n-match plaid wool and leather paneled backpacks, button-downs and caps for Union LA. Entitled the Summit Collection, the offering is extensive and takes clear inspiration from the prevalent mountaineering trend. We say go nuts and wear it all at once.

As part of the Dr. Romanelli x Hello Kitty collaboration we see the release of the “Anatomy” toys. The toy comes in two colorways and features a true Dr. design, revealing the inner organs of the iconic character. The toys have been produced by Medicom Toy.

This holiday season Dr. Romanelli re-interprets one of Jim Henson’s fan favorites – Fraggle Rock. So far we cannot tell you what to expect. A special website has been put up for the collaborative project at www.drdoozer.com. We will keep you posted!

Inspired by hospital volunteers, which are sometimes referred to as candy stripers, Dr. Romanelli created in collaboration with Hello Kitty a new toy, which has of course been produced by Medicom Toy. The hospital theme is of course right up the alley of the Dr. and could not fit better. Look out for a release very soon.

A while ago we announced the collaboration between Dr. Romanelli, Hello Kitty and Medicom. Next to a vinyl toy, there will also be a series of t-shirts coming out of this collaborative project and we show you the line-up today. Dr. Romanelli nicely mixes Hello Kitty characters and signature graphics with a doctor theme. Overall there will be 6 t-shirts in this capsule collection, releasing very soon. We get a first look at the upcoming collaboration between Dr. Romanelli, Sanrio and Medicom Toy. Together they worked on new Hello Kitty figures, overall three of them. Dr. Romanelli was inspired by his fascination with medical science. The three figures will be complemented by a capsule apparel collection upon release. More information will follow soon.

After creating a custom set of jackets for pop-punk band Fall Out Boy, Dr. Romanelli continues the partnership with a post-apocalyptic themed comic book entitled Fall Out Toy Works. The five-issue miniseries is loosely based on “Tiffany Blews” a song from Fall Out Boy’s album Folie a Deux. Fall Out Toy Works will be released through Image Comics, with the first issue set to arrive on September 2nd, 2009.

Finally we get some nice images from the recent Medicom Toy Exhibition. Previously we could only show you some snapshots, here now a more complete review.

Of course we are mostly interested in the future releases of the Bearbrick range. The exhibition showcased upcoming collaborations with WeSC, Loopwheeler, Levi’s Fenom and many others. Also interesting is the upcoming collaboration between Hello Kitty and Dr. Romanelli, consisting of both a vinyl toy and a matching t-shirt.

For Fall/Winter 2009, Dr. Romanelli once again taps into the great outdoors. The Dr Romanelli Summit collection consists of reworked 1960’s-1980’s outdoor apparel and gear. Primarily focusing on carefully selected flannels and hiking packs as the main source of inspiration, the collection ranges from reconstructed flannel backpacks to reinterpreted Cowichan Indian sweaters. The collection will be available exclusively at Barneys Japan with a capsule collection to be announced here in the US in coming weeks. Upcoming singer/songwriter/producer Mike Posner models the new collection. The line was shot by Andrew Paynter.
