The CLOT x Disney ‘Man in the Forest’ Travelling Mickey exhibition recently had its first stop in Shanghai. CLOT asked a series of artists and designers to present custom versions of the iconic cartoon character. The line-up of participating artists includes Dr. Romanelli, Madsaki, Andre, Cassette Playa, Mr. Cartoon, Eric So, Mr. Azuma, CLOT themselves and other outstanding artists.

Today we get a first better look at the upcoming collaboration between Bamford Watch Department and Dr. Romanelli. The LA based designer decided to work on the Rolex Milgauss, giving it some nice added details on the dial. In the coming days more news on the actual release of the watch should be revealed.

In his latest collaboration Dr. Romanelli gets together with Japanese workwear inspired brand Anachronorm. Paying tribute to the steel workers of Detroit city, the ‘Detroit Steel Works’ Collection consists of several t-shirts, a vest, a jacket and matching pants. The collection has arrived this week at Haven (storeguide).

Dr. Romanelli presents the ‘Summers on the Fringe’ down vest. The vest comes with a mix of leather and plaid on the upper, as well as heavy fringe decoration, hinting at a Native American inspiration. The piece is so special that it is certainly not suitable for everybody, but if you can pull it off, it is a winner.

Dr. Romanelli once again teamed up with Medicom on a new set of Bearbricks. The ‘Spirit of 76′ set consists of a 400% version and a 100% version of the iconic vinyl toy. A release is expected later this month.

A nice new blazer jacket will release Spring 2011 from Dr. Romanelli. The Field Medic Blazer comes in an insulated down fabric with camouflage upper. While the front of the blazer is kept rather clean, heavy embroideries decorate the back of it. The jacket will drop soon at Barney’s Japan.

For Spring 2011 Dr. Romanelli has once again joined forces with A Love Movement, presenting a series of down vests, as part of the “Dr. Love” Spring 2011 Collection.

“Both of these Los Angeles-based brands share the ideal of recycling the discarded past in order to create something fresh and contemporary. Through their individual apporaches to reconstructing vintage garments DRx and Tetsuzo have joined forces to create one of a kind items whose production process leaves no environmental footprint. The fusion of Romanelli’s recycled panel techinique with Tetsuzo’s colorful vintage patch naratives and cashmere-reworked lettering creates a dynamic and playful dialogue of meaning and form.”

As part of his latest project, Dr. Romanelli presents a footwear collaboration with Beetle Bailey on the Converse Chuck Taylor All Star Bosey. The sneaker first released as part of an Ace Hotel collaboration.

The sneaker features a rubber toe cap and lots of design details, including printing, leather re-enforcement’s, comic print on the lining and a worn in effect all over. The entire project is being presented this month during Project NYC 2011.

Today we get a first look at the upcoming collaboration between Dr. Romanelli, Beetle Bailey and The Real McCoys. The Property Of Camp Swamp Collection consists of jackets, shirts, t-shirt, pants and hats, all vintage military inspired and featuring Beetle Bailey graphic prints. In time for the holidays Dr. Romanelli remixed a couple of backpacks for Unite.

“The packs have multiple textiles worked into the mix spanning over the last 100 years . A little 1910’s Japanese Boro denim, 1940’s Hickory ticking, 1960’s jean jacket , 1970’s Military tent canvas, 1980’s flannels.”
