Today we can finally get a first look inside the newly launched Dr. Romanelli Prescription Shoppe at Hostem in London.

“Bringing his brand of ‘personalization customization to the UK, LA based designer Dr Romanelli has launched the Dr Romanelli Prescription Shoppe in Hostem third room and features his latest collaborative products with brands including Oliver Peoples, NY painting artist Jose Parla and cult Japanese brand Real McCoys to name a few – All of which will be for sale.

Hostem held a launch party for the Prescription Shoppe which took place in the derelict space above the store, and featured original artwork by legendary NY graffiti artist KRINK.”

Dr. Romanelli has gotten together with Revive for his latest collection, entitled “Detroit”. Inspired by the blue collar history, the car industry and sports teams of the city of Detroit, Romanelli created a series of leather jackets and down vests, not hiding the Detroit focus.

Furthermore they produced a post card and a little video for the introduction of the collection.

Heritage, the in-house label from Massachusetts-based boutique Unite (which is located on the original path of the Underground Railroad), worked with Dr Romanelli on an impressive set of baseball jackets. Made from vintage US military tents from the Vietnam war era, each jacket was overdyed, chainstitched in Idaho for the visuals, and color coordinated via stitch color, tent color, zipper and ribbing. The result is a set of timeless, quality items that recall history through clothing. Available exclusively at Unite. A portion of all proceeds are donated to the David Ruggles Center for Underground Railroad Studies.

Just yesterday we showcased the new collaboration between Dr. Romanelli and Oliver Peoples on a sculpture. Here we take a closer look now at a biker jacket created by the designer, using the same techniques that we are used to see from him. You can expect these to release at the Dr. Romanelli Prescription Shoppe at Hostem in London, in November.

In an interesting collaboration, Dr. Romanelli has gotten together with retailer Hostem from London and Oliver Peoples to reveal the Dr. Goodfellow sculpture.

“With the help of London’s newest menswear bastion Hostem, proprietor James Brown and prestigious eyewear brand Oliver Peoples, The Doctor Romanelli brand unveils its newest creation: Dr. Goodfellow.

Darren Romanelli (DRx) is a pioneer of aesthetic innovation, renowned for reviving cultural classics by twisting the familiar into the fresh. He applies a unique signature blending of past and present to each new creation with passion, dedication, commitment and, most importantly, personal connection. His latest project fuses elements of the Victorian era with the fantastic mythological characters from Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

“Dr. Goodfellow is inspired by Robin Goodfellow: the mythic sprite known to many story tellers as ‘Puck’. He hides in the shadows, helping and healing, everything from broken bones to bruised souls. He is a playful and unpredictable character, who is as mischievous as he is medicinal,” explains Romanelli. Like all of his projects, Dr. Goodfellow embodies the infectious enthusiasm that conceived it.

With an edition size of just 10 pieces, the statuettes are truly rare collectibles. Exquisite features lend the figurines a sense of detail rarely found in bronze art of this scale, including scissors, stethoscope and a custom jewelry-quality monocle with chain produced by Oliver Peoples.”

Dr. Goodfellow will be available in select stores November 2010.

After having previewed the DRX-Mas “Nutcracker” Bearbrick Set yesterday, we show you today the second collaboration between Dr. Romanelli and Medicom for Christmas 2010. The DRX-Mas “Jack Frost” Bearbrick only comes in the 100% size and will be released in the coming weeks.

Medicom once again worked with Dr. Romanelli on some new Beabricks. In time for Christmas and inspired by the iconic Nutcracker, they present the DRX-MAS Bearbricks in 100% and 400%.

Dr. Romanelli has gotten together for the second time with Tetsuzo Okubo from A Love Movement under the Doctor Love Project. For Fall/Winter 2010 they present a series of down vests mixing vintage military with the custom lettering of Tetsuzo Okubo. The vests were made specifically for Atlanta boutique Deka and will be released in the coming weeks.

From the collaboration between Dr. Romanelli and Anachronorm the first jackets are being presented.

“The Japanese brand sent me a carefully selected batch of their premium vintage items from past seasons. I sat for two-and-half months with the pieces, getting in touch with them so-to-speak, then deconstructed them to bring them back as a collection of bomber jackets and tote bags. They’re about 85 percent vintage Anachronorm and 15 percent new material, but they take on an entirely new life.”

The jackets will be available from Anachronorm boutiques in Japan and from Hostem in London.

Continuing on with his collaborative DRx Standard Issue collection with The Real McCoys, Dr Romanelli has released a custom tribute tour jacket to the Vietnam era made from black velvet. The Widow Maker details are all hand stitched. Limited to an edition of 10, the jacket is exclusively available at The Dr Romanelli Prescription Shoppe.
