If it’s one thing Nike SB is known for outside of the actual shoes themselves, it’s the inspiration stories behind them. This time around, Nike SB looks to science fiction from Star Wars and its “Tauntaun” creature from the planet Hoth. If you recall, Han Solo stuffed Luke Skywalker inside of one to stay warm while stuck on the ice planet. Anyway, enough geek talk, these Dunk Highs take inspiration from that furry fellow with its hairy grey suede material used on the upper. Check DQM as they received their pairs of this Quickstrike release.

The red and gold Dunk High SB we showed you awhile back is arriving at retailers this week. Billed as an August 2010 Quickstrike, the hi-top sneaker adds to the list of beer inspired Dunks, drawing it’s colorway from everyone’s favorite discount Cerveza, Tecate. You can grab a pair from DQM.

The Nike Dunk High comes in an attractive black, white and red color scheme as part of the Icon series of limited releases. Black leather, suede and mesh meet a white Swoosh over a red mid sole with matching laces. Look for these at select accounts.

Eddie Cruz previews a new Livestrong Dunk High that will be released this Saturday at UNDFTD La Brea. Commemorating the start of the 2010 Tour de France, the sneaker features the classic bike racing colors along the heel alongside the traditional black and yellow of the Livestrong Foundation.

Following the Eric Koston “Thailand” Dunk High Premium, we can now show you another Dunk High from Nike SB’s May 2010 lineup. Featured in a classic two-tone make up, the sneaker is presented in black and grand purple with white accents and perforated detailing. Look for these to arrive at select NSB accounts in the coming weeks.

The long-awaited Eric Koston signature Dunk High from Nike SB has been revealed. Paying tribute to his Thai heritage, the sneaker is outfitted in sparkling gold, representative of the mosques seen in Thailand. Scheduled for an April 27 delivery at select Nike SB accounts.

Nike’s iconic Dunk High receives a heavy dose of hyper blue with nothing more than a gradated tongue/side panel diverting this release from being labeled a completely monochromatic sneaker. Yeah, it’s a women’s release, but we all know they make ‘em pretty big if you want to get it like that. Spotted at Essence.

As you may recall, we featured the Complex Mag “Top 100 Sneakers of the 2000s” article last week. Apparently, somewhere within that list they made mention of a never-before-seen Hyperstrike version of the DQM Nike Dunk Highs. Originally released in September 2008, the sneakers featured a perforated suede upper in three tonal colorways. Today, DQM offers a first ever look into the Hyperstrike version — all black everything, limited to 24 pairs, friends and family only. Never released. Bummer, ’cause these are amazing.

After the Nike Dunk High SB has originally been released in extremely limited quantities in 2006, because the actual release at the time was cancelled, we will see a return of the shoe in 2009. Girl Skateboards had designed the shoe in 2006, which came in black denim and of course the infamous Gucci colors. Then some issue inside the Crailtap crew came up and the project was cancelled and only 30 sneaker had been produced.

As part of the Nike SB Holiday 2009 Collection the Dunk High SB will now finally be releaed in the very same design. Via Kix-Files.

Yesterday we presented to you the new Dunk Low SB and Dunk Mid Pro, here now a look at the latest Dunk High SB. It comes with a navy/red suede upper and a yellow stars all-over embroidery. The stars have a certain hand made look to themselves, which we like. The shoe is inspired by the Glen Quagmire character from Family Guy. The white/gum sole is a nice finish.
