Electronic Arts and adidas Originals today announced a lifestyle and gaming partnership for Need for Speed™ The Run. Consumers will not only see the adidas Superstar shoes in Need for Speed The Run, but they will also release a limited edition Need for Speed The Run adidas branded apparel and sneakers, which will be available at all adidas Originals stores across the United States.

The Need for Speed The Run and adidas Originals promotional events kick-off on October 12th in Chicago. 50 pairs of the limited edition Need for Speed The Run Top X shoe will go on sale October 10 at the adidas Originals Chicago store. The first ten consumers to purchase a pair will get a ticket to the exclusive kick-off event at the store on October 12th, headlined by DJ Neil Armstrong and Kids These Days.

The next event will be in San Francisco on October 27 at the adidas San Francisco store. An additional 50 pairs of the limited edition shoe will go on sale October 22 at the store. The first 20 consumers to purchase a pair will get a ticket to the exclusive event at the store on October 27 headlined by Mick Boogie. It all culminates in New York on November 15 to celebrate the game’s launch.

The stars of the sports world and Hollywood collided in Los Angeles to celebrate the outstanding athletic achievements of the year, and honor leading performers at the 2009 ESPY Awards held at the Kodak Theatre in downtown Los Angeles this past week.

Leading up to the show, athletes and celebrities hit The Standard Hotel in downtown for some pampering and swag at the 2009 ESPY Style Studio.

Having huge success with last years Style Studio, and continued requests from athletes for the 2008 UNDFTD ESPY Duffle Bag – UNDEFEATED decided to participate again this year, with another exclusive duffle. UNDEFEATED designed this military sport duffle bag exclusively for the 2009 ESPY Awards, and is only available to those who have sacrificed many hours becoming the athlete and person they are today. The bag is made from heavy canvas like those of the military, and features a thick adjustable canvas strap for comfort, and a heavy toggle opening to keep athletic equipment and everyday sports gear securely in place. Imprinted on the inner opening of each bag are the words “SPORT IS WAR,” reminding athletes to take no mercy, and play to win.

This year, UNDEFEATED teamed up with EA SPORTS to create an Elite UNDFTD x EA 2009 ESPY Award Military Sport Duffle Bag, which was given to 30 top athletes. Keep an eye out for these bags on the website or at the La Brea store….. word is there are a couple left over. No one can confirm how much they will be, or what UNDFTD is going to do with them as of yet.

Etnies and Electronic Arts Inc. have worked together to bring the etnies GvR skateboarding contest to the Skate 2 video game, and to create an etnies Skate 2 RVM shoe for real world skateboarding. The etnies RVM Skate 2 shoe will be available when the game hits stores late January 2009 for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Drawing inspiration from etnies skate heritage, the RVM features the classic etnies Rap styling with a slimmed down mid-top silhouette on a vulcanized outsole and a tonal Skate 2 logo on the outer heel. The RVM also features STI System G2 gel in the heel of the outsole to absorb shock and prevent heel bruises. The shoe will be sold at Zumiez in the United States, and it will be available at select retailers internationally.

For the 20th anniversary of EA Games Madden football video game, they got together with Reebok on a limited edition Recline PH sneaker. The sneaker comes with a box cover all-over print, 20th anniversary mentioning and some other nice details.
Let’s be honest here, it is certainly not a nice shoe, but something for the collectors and hardcore Madden fans. The shoe will be released in the coming weeks, so keep your eyes open.

Adidas Skate got together with EA Sports on an interesting collaboration for the Skate game by EA Sports. Adidas Skate made a limited edition of 500 pairs of the pro model Mark Gonzales Superstars and Dennis Busenitz’s Gazelles. The only way to get these is to play the game, get the secret code.
