Eastpak releases the limited edition Cosmic Devotion Day Pack. Their classic canvas backpack comes with a colorful graphic all-over design, inspired by an iconic religious scene. Look out for the backpack in stores Spring/Summer 2012, limited to 500 pieces.

Eastpak and designer Kris Van Assche are going into their second season and present a new line-up of bags for Spring/Summer 2012. The new Eastpak by KRISVANASSCHE Collection consists of backpacks, messenger bags, helmet tote bags and smaller pouches as well, each coming in a series of colors. All in all 11 styles have been designed, coming in various color and material combinations, all reflecting the clean design aesthetic that we know from the designer and creative director of Dior Homme.

Ranging in price from 55 Euros to 255 Euros, the new Easpak by KRISVANASSCHE Spring/Summer 2012 Collection is coming to stores January 2012.

Kris Van Assche and Eastpak have established a strong position in the high-fashion meets mass-consumer product segment, offering a designer take on the very utilitarian Eastpak bag collection. With an astounding number of options, the line follows a two-tone color story, while each bag contains at least one smaller bag within. Take a look through the series, it’s pretty good.

As part of their Fall/Winter 2011 Collection, Silas has collaborated with Eastpak. They worked on the classic backpack of the brand, giving it a navy nylon upper, beige suede piping and bottom and a tartan front pocket. The backpack will release September 2011, along with their Vans Era collaboration.

Eastpak continues its collaboration with designer Christopher Shannon. When the last couple of collections were mostly centered around a modern technical look, the designer managed to mix that look with heavy woven patterns for the coming Fall/Winter 2011 season. The result is interesting and in our mind the most interesting product that has come from this collaboration to date.

The new collection consists of two backpacks, a duffle bag, as well as some smaller pouches.

To coincide with the release of his graduate collection from Central Saint Martins, Nicomede Talavera has collaborated with EASTPAK on a range of 10 show piece bags to accompany his collection.

He is the first undergraduate young designer they have worked with since Christopher Shannon and follows in the footsteps of designers Gaspard Yurkevich, Rick Owens and Raf Simons who have also collaborated with the iconic bag and accessories label.

All of the pieces are a combination of white, grey and black leather with washed and PU coated nylons and polyesters; a combination of sportswear and luxury fabrics.

The shapes of the bags are created using darts, they have scrunched leather detailing on the straps and handles and each bag also comes with a pony skin wallet attached in colours white, grey or black.

How did the Eastpak collaboration come about and what were your aims for the collaboration?

Nicomede Talavera: When I began designing my main collection I knew that I really wanted to show bags alongside it so that it was representative of the customer I design for and his lifestyle. I have always been as massive fan of EASTPAK’s range of luggage and bags and how they fuse innovative and versatile designs that are fantastic quality. As well as their collaborations with some of the best menswear designers, such as Raf Simons, Rick Owens and Kris Van Assche on more fashion-forward capsule collections.

So, I took a chance and approached them way back in October 2010 with the idea of a collaboration, they were really interested and gave it the go ahead as they are keen to support young talent! And from that point onwards everything as grown so quickly! They were an amazing company to work with and I was able to benefit from their wealth of experience and reputation for quality and innovation.

They gave me completely free reign over the designs, details and fabrics which was fantastic and we kept in constant contact back and forth throughout every stage of the sampling so that I was really able to learn how the process works.

I really wanted the range to be as vast and varied as possible to really try and cover as many of the areas that I personally use bags for on a day-to-day basis. So alongside designing two re-inventions of Eastpak’s Iconic Padded Pak’r backpack, I also designed a laptop case, passport bag, holdalls, record bags etc. so that there were styles that covered many different uses and offered additional styles that weren’t part of the current Eastpak range.

His graduate collection consists of 10 full looks and a 10-piece bag collection in collaboration with EASTPAK.

Eastpak presents an interesting new commercial, featuring models wearing their bags and getting into a human Tetris game. Overall the video is well executed.

From the Kris Van Assche x Eastpak collection comes an exclusive black leather backpack, only available at Paris’ colette. The bag will be available June 20, 2011 and is limited to 30 copies.

The Salone del Mobile 2011 is almost upon us and among the many collaborations that will launch during the Milan week dedicated to design, here in preview is one between the U.S. brand Eastpak and Dutch fashion designer Antoine Peters.

Class 1981, Peters has customized 100 of Eastpak bags and backpacks, with his distinctive black and white drawings, conceptual and minimal in style, conceived as white paper on which to apply graphic patterns like a large sketchbook. Their collaboration will be presented at the Elite Design Week Festival 2011, along with the Eastpak x Quinze & Milan furniture collection.

For the second time Eastpak gets together with design studio Quinze & Milan. At the upcoming Salone del Mobile the two will showcase the new range of furniture and bags that they created in collaboration with one another.

The Quinze & Milan Club Sofa 01 and Primary Pouf 02 get the Eastpak remix and are enhanced with a series of pockets, allowing you to store anything from a book and DVDs to your iPad right in your couch. The primary material of use in this second collaboration is washed denim, next to some other material options. Matching bags have been created by Eastpak for this collaborative project.
