Puma “Machine-Wash” Easy Rider Pack

puma machine wash easy rider pack - highsnobiety
In 1978, the PUMA Easy Rider hit the scene as a trail runner – and also a revolutionary release in the footwear market. Its dimpled PU midsole and rugged outsole lugs gave it a very aggressive and technical look at a time when running shoes were primarily constructed out of EVA. In addition to attracting runners, the Easy Rider also caught the attention of lifestyle consumers, which catapulted the shoe into the classics hall of fame.
Back by popular demand, Puma is offering an exclusive collection called the “Machine Wash” Easy Rider pack, consisting of the first three colorways PUMA introduced on the original pattern.
Offered with two lace options, the upper features distressed suede overlays along with lightweight nylon underlays. Back in the day, the only way to get these kicks clean after a trail run was to chuck them in the waching machine (which was also believed to improve the shoe’s fit and comfort).
Repeat washings gave this shoe a worn-in look, and so with this collection, it was their mission to finish the Easy Rider with an authentic worn-in “Machine Wash” look that captures its original aesthetic.
Overkill will be releasing the pack on October 25th, so you still have some time to get ready.
More detailed images after the jump.
