It’s hard to tell without seeing these in person (actually, make that touching them), but Edwin’s latest Japanese Denim is actually printed with wear marks rather than washed. Working with Japanese firm Inkmax, the jeans are ran through an inkjet printer to achieve looks based on classic Rebel Vintage patterns. Probably not something for those obsessed with authenticity, but it’s always interesting to see established brands try something new. They’re selvedge for those wondering.

Denim label Edwin worked with ‘old friends’ Folk (and their footwear label Shofolk) on a number of great pieces for the season.

The EF-62 Denim sees Folk take advantage of the Edwin denim archives to create their own regular fitting, straight leg jean from organic, lightweight denim, adding some distinctly ‘Folk’ design features.

On the footwear side, we see Shofolk’s classic Armstrong boot and Alaric shoe incorporate Edwin detailing and branding (Edwin denim heel detail and logo tab) to give a distinctive and original look. Features premium leather and suede uppers with leather lining and waxed cotton laces. Available for purchase from End.

Edwin and Pendleton got together to collaborate on a limited edition shirt. The shirt brings together the core elements of both brands – quality wool from Pendleton and Kaihara denim, sourced in Japan, from Edwin. Limited to only 300 units, this special colorway will be released at premium retailers in July 2010.

The Edwin Spring/Summer 2010 collection is a story of two chapters. Chapter 1 is focused around the brand’s core elements and priceless heritage – Denim. Chapter two focuses on a new direction and a deliberate nod to the future of Edwin – Ready to wear. The SS10 collection from Edwin is a concise and finely tuned collection, not too gandiose or diverse to alarm loyal customers yet strong enough to intrigue and excite the new breed. A definite ‘Maritime’ theme is applied to the overall ethos, in both the imagery and design.

We give you a look at the Edwin Fall/Winter 2009 Collection Lookbook. While Edwin has been a big hit in Japan for many years, the brand is slowly also gaining ground in Europe and the US. Known for their classic, premium denim, Edwin presents a strong collection of both denim and clothing for next season. The lookbook shows off a collection of images depicting the product in a rural and rustic environment complementing the hues and fabrics whilst accentuating the style present within the collection. The collection consists of pieces in denim, plaid, chambray and leather.

In an interesting collaboration denim brand Edwin and UK shoe brand Folk get together for Spring/Summer 2010. The two brands worked on an entire range of low top and mid top shoes, complementing the Edwin “Maritime” Spring/Summer 2010 denim collection. The collaboration will also include an exclusive pair of denim by Edwin for Folk, that we can hopefully show you soon.

Next to leather shoes, the two brands also worked on shoes with an all denim upper. The first season (it is on-going) of the collaboration consists of three men’s styles and one women’s style. An exciting project to look forward to.

The Hello Kitty popularity and collaborations just never seem to stop. From Atmos, Undercover, Bape and many other brands have already worked with the famous character. Now Japanese denim brand Edwin has produced two Hello Kitty dolls, made with their premium denim. Take a look at the outcome above.

On September 5th 2008 Edwin Europe celebrated the launchof the exclusive Japanese Vintage Line into Europe. The Japanese Vintage line is limited to a 150 pieces per style in each country and is only available at selected Edwin retailers across Europe now.  The Japanese Vintage line represents the pinnacle of denim engineereing, washing, cuts and love for denim and is available for men and women. To celebrate the launchof the Japanese Vintage Line, Edwin Europe invited Japanese Rock Band, The Dirtrucks, to Paris to perform at the exclusive venue, Le Temple, for a selected group of guests, journalists and fans.

Nike collaborates with Levi’s, Adidas with Diesel and Onitsuka Tiger got together this season for the second time with Edwin. Not only does seem to have become normal for denim and sneaker companies to collaborate, for some reason they also stick to their local denim makers.
The Spring/Summer 2008 collection, is the second time that Onitsuka Tiger and Edwin get together. This season they present the Edwin 505 and 503 models in several washes, colors and also raw. We reported about these a couple of months ago. Edwin Japan teamed up with Gore-Tex and added the Windstopper membrane to their classic denim. You get the classic look with wind and rain proof features. For all outdoor people or bikers, this is the perfect denim.
