element emerald launch event berlin-14

The Element Emerald Collection is a consciously crafted men’s lifestyle product line, focusing on environmentally friendlier materials and manufacturing processes. The collection was designed for the needs of our maturing industry and the organic style evolution of our culture. The name Emerald symbolizes the highest level of green, emphasizing the premium quality and eco-conscious roots of the collection.

Last week we stopped by their launch event in Berlin and caught up with artist and Element Emerald Advocate Thomas Campbell who created a 4-meter wide wall piece to celebrate the occasion. Enjoy.

Element Emerald Fall 2012 Lookbook

With Fall 2012, Element introduces a full line of their young sub-brand, the Emerald Collection. While having offered some footwear already before, they are now going full on into apparel as well. Having always been a strong player in the action sports and skate areas, Element has produced the Emerald Collection to connect with the guy that has grown out of the core skate style that is presented in their other lines. The name Emerald symbolizes the highest level of green, emphasizing the premium quality and eco-conscious roots of the collection.

The outcome is a heritage inspired collection of apparel, that includes everything from outerwear to denim, shirts, accessories and of course also footwear. Classics are infused with the Element style, fusing the worlds of fashion and skate culture. For the most part the apparel is easy to wear and match, yet comes with nice accents and details.

Tonight, Element is celebrating the launch of the collection with an event during Berlin Fashion Week. Next to a full collection preview, Element Emerald Advocate Thomas Campbell will also be in place, showcasing some of his photography. More info on the event you can find here.

Check out the collection lookbook after the jump.

Element Emerald Collection Preview at Saturdays Surf NYC

A couple of weeks ago, Element presented their all new Emerald Collection at Saturdays Surf NYC. Taking a more mature route for this new collection, a complete apparel line is being added to the already existing footwear range under the Emerald umbrella.

Having the grown-up skateboarder in mind, the Element Emerald range offers a casual and easy to wear line-up of clothing, always keeping sustainability and materials in mind. The complete apparel range is made of recyclable fabrics, something one hardly ever comes across. The footwear range is also looking really nice, with the boots being our favorites.

Element Make It Count Photo Series - Chad Muska-01Throughout 2009, Kirk Dianda filmed and edited a four-part documentary series entitled MAKE IT COUNT, The Element Story. Accompanying the film, Element also released a 200-page photo book (which includes the DVD of the film) packed with imagery from Element’s 20 years in business. During the production process, Amber B. Dianda was lucky enough to sit in with Kirk while he interviewed many of the people behind the brand.

“To start things off, we flew to the east coast to shoot a handful of interviews, including Bam and his family in Westchester, PA, Donny Barley in Providence, RI, and Chad Muska in New York, NY. While there, Chad put us up in his apartment, where he acted as the best host New York had to offer… Here’s an insider’s look at one of the most energetic artists and skateboarders around, and in his natural surroundings; SoHo.”

Keep your ear to the blogs for more from this series. More Muska looks at Rad Collector.

Element x Imaginary Foundation Skatedecks

10 December 2008, 18.36 | Posted in Skateboarding | 3 comments »

element imaginary foundation decks Element x Imaginary Foundation Skatedecks

Element has collaborated with Imaginary Foundation on a series of skatedecks.

“The Imaginary Foundation is a think tank from Switzerland that does experimental research on new ways of thinking and the power of the imagination. They hold dear a belief in human potential and seek progress in all directions. The small clandestine team is headed up by the mysterious “Director,” a 70 something uber intellectual who’s father founded the Dadist movement. Avoiding direct publicity the team has sought streetwear as an unlikely vehicle for bringing their ideas beyond the academic realm and into popular culture.”

Visually the graphics by Imaginary Foundation have always been directly identifiable, which is also the case with the skatedecks. Look out for a release in the coming weeks.
