Here’s a closer look at one of our favorite new releases from Vans California. The NS Era is a no stitch edition of the classic skate shoe, with contrast metal eyelets, a soft, washed blue cotton canvas upper and contrast leather lining. The perfect summer sneaker. Available now at Flatspot.

The highly anticipated Filson for Vans Vault collection is beginning to trickle into retailers. Amongst the first to receive the pack is Bows & Arrows of Berkeley, CA. As shown previously, the classic Vans Sk8-Hi and Era received a Filson make over in premium brown bridle leather and heavy tan canvas. A matching rucksack accompanies the release, and at $212 USD will actually run you more than both pairs of shoes combined – but, as Filson says, “might as well have the best.”

As many of you will have noticed, Vans has a very large collection for FW10. One of our favorite addition is the California line, a more quality focused, lifestyle oriented line. Highlighted here are three premium two-tone Eras in mixed leathers. The boat shoe-style laces and tonal logo tags are great touch, and evident of the type of design elements you’ll find in the CA collection. Look out for these shortly. (Provider)

The Vans Era comes in two solid new colorways. Both the black and the grey colorway come with a mixed suede/nylon upper, with the nylon featuring a grid pattern all over. The sneakers are exclusive to Oshman’s in Japan.

The New York Mets are the latest MLB team to join the Vans Vault Opening Day Collection. As will the rest of the series, the New York Mets Era LX will be limited to 12 pairs and restricted to a single retailer. Accompanied by a matching Majestic Authentic Jersey, these Eras will go on sale Monday, April 5th, exclusively at Premium Goods in Brooklyn. Stay tuned as more teams are revealed.

Here’s another peek into Vans forthcoming FW’10 California collection. The classic Era sneaker is reworked in two suede variations of with traditional wingtip detailing. Look for these two colors – Cement and Turkish Sea – to hit Vans CA retailers come July 2010.

UK retailer Offspring have teamed up with Vans on a duo of exclusive California Collection Eras. The sneakers mix canvas, nylon and (for the first time ever on an Era) a neoprene upper with suede. These two colorways are now available in store and online at Offspring.

Vans created a limited Era in commemoration of the forthcoming Michael Vaughn flick Kick Ass (in theaters April 16). Featured in the movie’s colors of green and yellow, the shoe is printed all-over with the Kick Ass logo. Vans will also be doing a signing with the Kick Ass cast (Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Chloe Moretz, Aaron Johnson, Clark Duke and Nicholas Cage) at the Vans store in Austin, TX this Saturday March 13th (during SXSW) from 5-6pm. 100 pairs were produced, and will not be sold.

A grip of great new Vans Classics have landed at KICKS/HI Makaloa. Included in the drop are two sets of chambray uppered styles – black Sk8-His, Old Skools, Eras and Slip Ons as well as the first three styles in blue (pictured above). Not quite as elegant as the chambray Chucks, but a good look nonetheless.

Three fixed Era colorways from the Vans Spring 2010 California Collection just came through the door at DQM. “The Era 45 CA Fixed was constructed with cycling in mind. Heavy suede, thicker canvas, reflective details, and a stronger build all around make for a great shoe to wedge into some toe clips.”
