Estate LA Maneki Neko II

highsnobiety - Estate LA Maneki Neko II | 8.8.08 Release
Two years after the original Maneki Neko release, Estate LA has flipped the color scheme for a second drop of the innovative tear away hat. Initially inspired by the tear-away Vandal from Nike, the cap allows the wearer the opportunity to cut away the outer fabric to reveal a secondary hidden pattern. The chopstick pattern on the Maneki Neko (along with the embroidered cat) disguise a fabric layer with an all over sushi print.
The cat has special meaning, following the tradition of the charm cat. Given as a gesture of good luck for a new house or the opening of a new business, the charm cat. As it stands, the cap releases its charms in concert with the opening of Estate LA’s web store, accessible on Friday.
The hat will retail for $60 at Estate’s flagship shop located at 1821 Lincoln Blvd, Venice, CA and is available as of today. After 2pm the phones will be open for orders as well.
Further views after the jump.
