Asics previews their Fall 2009 offering for the European market this week at the BRIGHT Tradeshow in Frankfurt. New colorways of the Gel Lyte III make an appearance. The Gel Lyte III continues to be Asics best selling model at the moment.

A while back we gave you a first look at one of the most interesting collaborations of the year – Carhartt with Vans. As we get closer to the release, which takes place on September 3rd, we present you some newdetailed images of the Chukka and the Half Cab, which are the result of this project.
The concept of the Vans x Carhartt cooperation is simple. Friends put together the most iconic elements from their brand and combine them into one. The result is a unique and limited collaboration reflecting the style and timelessness of each brand.
Carhartt has a long tradition in the skilled trades and it stands for innovative design and exceptional standards of quality, durability and comfort. The use of canvas is legendary for this brand and so it seemed natural to choose Carhartt’s own canvas in the customary colour Carhartt brown for this collaboration.

Within the Vans collections there are a host of styles that fit Carhartt’s demand, so choosing the right styles was simple. It had to be something casual but at the same time special – the Chukka and the Half Cab are exactly that. The Chukka can be worn on any occasion and always looks smart and the Half Cab combines superior design with the skate spirit from the 90’s, when Carhartt first set up their office in Europe. Both styles have the revolutionary cupsole featuring the ultimate combination of boardfeel, grip, support and cushioning to meet the demands of today’s skateboard pioneers. 
The limited collaboration between Vans and Carhartt reflects the great synergy between the two brands and is only available at selected Vans and Carhartt stores across Europe from September this year.

The launch will take place in the morning of the 3rd of September at the Carhartt and Vans store in Paris and Berlin. Special work by British artist French will be shown in all Carhartt stores and a special windows display will be realized by French for the Carhartt and Vans stores in Paris and Berlin.
The shoes will only be available at selected Carhartt stores in Europe including London, Paris, Lyon, Toulouse, Madrid, Barcelona, Lisboa, Berlin, Cologne, Frankfurt, Milan, Rome, Amsterdam, Copenhagen and Zürich.

Levi’s Blue Europe collaborated with Singapore designers Phunk Studio on some t-shirts as part of their Spring/Summer 2008 collection. The t-shirts come with over-sized black on white prints.

In the last couple of months Levi’s Europe was working on an interesting project in Belgium. They asked 100 artists to design the iconic Levi’s backpocket. The pieces of art were then put on display at the Backpocket Gallery in Belgium and were auctioned off, with the benefits going to foundations fighting AIDS. Via Notcot.

The two most authentic and stylistic progressive companies in youth culture have come together again to collaborate on a project, exclusively for Europe and Japan. Stussy has shaped and paved the way for legions of fans, other brands and an entire culture through their original, sophisticated and authentic designs and ethics. Levi’s®, the leading and most credible denim company has over centuries influenced generations of rebels, style leaders and outsiders to, in turn, shape the way we understand and wear and perceive denims today. It is only natural that these two pioneers would come together to create a truly representative and extraordinary project.  
 
The project encompasses two denims, a jacket and a tee shirt which are to be released in November 2007. The products will only be available in strict limited numbers to the Levi’s® Flagship stores across Europe as well as selected Stussy stores across Europe and Japan.  The denims are based on the iconic 1967 505 Slim Fit and come two different washes, one being a rigid raw denim and a “worn” wash. The jean is a model of sophistication and purity, harnessing the premium qualities of the selvedge indigo denim. The slim and slightly tapered shape is new, though it has echoes in the past.
The jacket is based on the original Levi’s® 705xx Type 1 Jacket Standard Fit in a rigid finish with a modern twist in terms of design to it. Details include the print of the Stussy logo within the interior back of the jacket as well as on the small of the back.
The tee is a reworking of one of Stussy’s classics- combining the essence of Stussy’s subversive humour with a touch of denim reference and adding the original Levi’s® logo. 
The denim’s will retail at 250€, the jacket will also be retailed at the same price. The tee shirt will be sold for 70€. This collaborative project will be released in November 2007 and will only be available in very limited quantities.

Carhartt Europe has launched their new website and also presents their complete Fall/Winter 2007 collection on there. No different from previous seasons, the brand shows a perfect selection of basics, ranging from hoodies and crewnecks, to windbreakers, shirts, knitwear, accessories and jackets.  The new collection has a nice selection of plaid shirts and also jackets, striped hoodies and other nice basics.
