The much anticipated collaboration between Common Projects and Evisu has been released today. The two brands worked on a small capsule sneaker collection, consisting of both a low top and a high top silhouette, both coming in white and navy premium leather. The trademark Common Projects branding has been changed with a further addition on the heel. The sneakers are now available from Oki-Ni.

Denim brand Evisu and Common Projects reveal their first footwear collaboration. The collection consists of two sneaker styles – vulcanized leather low and hi-top styles in three colorways. As far as branding in concerned, the first digits on CP’s signature heel stamp are replaced with Japanese characters, referencing Evisu’s heritage. Also of interest is a lower price point for Common Projects – the lows retail for $165 and the highs for $185.

The denim market has gone through a lot of changes in the last two decades. We still remember the time when there was basically only Levi’s out there and then the shift to premium denim in the 90’s. One of the major players, if not the most significant one, was Evisu in the beginning of the 90’s. This year the brand relaunches, finding back to its old values.

Now Evisu is lead by Scott Morrison as creative director, known for founding Paper Denim and Earnest Sewn. The collection pays homage to the fascinating and forgotten roots of the brand.

The re-launch of Evisu will focus on the quality, craftsmanship, and authenticity that made them the “it” jeans in late-90s, when there was a long waiting list for the 12 pairs that Barneys received each month. Evisu was also the first denim brand to sell in mass for over $100 a pair.

Evisu’s new collection will be available exclusively at Barneys in November 2009 and starting from January also at Fred Segal. The new line with consist of 3 collections, with no 2 pairs the same:

• Evisu Genes ($150 to $198)
• Evisu ($198 to $265)
• Private Stock: ($600-$700) Replica quality, one-of-a-kind pieces, hand painted logo and numbered. For this line craftsmen use various techniques to create unique detailing (e.g. burns using cigarette lighters, hand painted buttons etc.)

After recently presenting to you the Converse Pantone 109 sneakers, celebrating the Selfrdiges 100th Anniversary, we show you some more product from the anniversary collection. The UK department store also worked with Fender on a guitar, with Levi’s and Evisu on special denim and with Toy Watch on a watch. While much of the world is speeding things up, hoping on track bikes and championing the "oneness" achieved through fixed gear, Evisu slows it down. With Dutch Bicycle manufacturer Grand 1888, they’ve developed a special edition bespoke cruiser. Everything on the bike is handcrafted from the steel frame to the gold plackets on the mud guard. The bikes are all individually numbered and come with a limited selvedge constructed Evisu bike duffel. 

We just came across some very special product from Evisu. The Japanese denim company released a Zippo, Teddy Bears and a Helmet. All three pieces come of course covered in denim with lots of nice details. The helmet is a collaboration with Acejet and the lighter with Zippo.

The Puma x Evisu denim collaboration seems to be on-going. This time Puma re-launched Evisu with some black denim. The new style features old school tattoo detailing and is available in PUMA concept stores across the country.
The tone-on-tone Evisu brushstroke logo remains, and a sheen coating which gives the denim a more polished, finished look. Available women’s styles include skinny leg, boot cut, straight fit and the cinch mini skirt. Men’s jeans are available in regular fit, slim fit, loose fit and boot cut. 
It is nice seeing Puma build their denim offer, also with  company like Evisu, but we can’t really say we like all the detailing with prints, embroidery and especially the sheen coating. Check out more pics after the jump.

Puma and Evisu stick together and bring out the next round of denim – this time in black. They come back with with the introduction of a sleek new line of tattooed black denim.
The denim comes in all black with the Evisu wave logo on the back pockets in a tonal grey tone. The womens denim has an embroidered heart on the front pocket, while the mens is actually hidden. Available women’s styles include skinny leg, boot cut, straight fit and the cinch mini skirt. Men’s jeans are available in regular fit, slim fit, loose fit and boot cut.
