Jiji at Palais de Tokyo

Chinese artist Jiji just opened his first solo show at Palais de Tokyo in Paris. Known for his panda centric art, the show consists of many panda sculptures and prints. The exhibition officially opened on February 23rd and had a special opening event in collaboration with Louis Vuitton. Kanye West, Anna Wintour and Pharrell Williams also made it out.

Nike True City Showroom Exhibition and Launch Party

Last week Nike celebrated their new True City iPhone application, a city guide from insiders for insiders, with a showroom exhibition and a launch party. The showroom exhibition took place in their Berlin Spirit Room and showcased the new application. On Wednesday they celebrated the new application. They got together with Patta, Pigalle and Firmament to party at Bar Tausend in Berlin. As you can imagine, with partners like these on board, the evening turned out fun.

FATSARAZZI Night & Day Exhibition Paris

Towards the end of January La Drogheria in Paris will be hosting a FATSARAZZI exhibition. The retrospective show consists of 30 pictures, taken from the artist’s upcoming book, which will see a released in Autumn 2010 at colette. “Night & Day” will open on January 23rd.

Nike SB Presents: "Alive With Pleasure" Exhibition and Berlin Pop-Up Store

October 10th will see the opening of the “Alive with Pleasure” exhibition of Berlin based photographer Alex Flach. Besides the exhibition there will be a Nike SB temporary store and an indoor miniramp. The exhibition shows pictures of the German Nike SB Team touring through Tokyo, Dubai, Capetown and Cairo. Accompanying the exhibition there will be a limited and signed book, shirt and poster available at the store. The official launch event takes place next Saturday.

Gardener 10th Anniversary Exhibition Preview

We get a first detailed look at the Gardener 10th exhibition that we have been reporting about heavily these last weeks. Taking place at De La Barracuda in Los Angeles, the exhibition will showcase many old and many new figures by the Hong Kong based artist Michael Lau. Collaborators include Terry Richardson, The Hundreds and many others. The artist has been referencing streetculture and action sports culture for many years already, along with other inspirations such as music. The amount of figures, collaborations and special product being released for the occasion is definitely amazing, so we can only advise you to pass by should you be in the area.

Futura “Odyssey Two” Exhibition Berlin | Exhibition Recap

Today the “Odyssey Two” Exhibition by Futura opened in Berlin. The artist himself was in place as well and showcased an impressive set of new works. Large scale paintings were presented along with some nice hand-drawn scatches. It was impressive to see how quickly the works sold out.

The show focuses on the dual themes of memory and the past, and the influence these have on an individual’s imagined world. Futura’s obsessions with space and hyperindustrial landscapes grew from his adolescence: a time when man first landed on the moon, and when the New York skyline soared with a mass of fresh skyscrapers. But the world in his pieces is entirely unique – a place that has developed in his mind over time, where remnants of earlier memories co-exist with imagined, abstract landscapes.Futura’s latest pieces show an artist comfortable in the world he has created, making accomplished works that use monochrome and occasional, frenetic bursts of outline to perfectly convey mood, atmosphere and situation, without the need for graphic symbols.

Takashi Murakami Paints Self-Portraits | Exhibition Recap

We have announced the exhibition a couple of weeks ago and now that is has opened we can finally give you a look at some of the stand-out pieces. The much anticipated Takashi Murakami x Kanye West bear sculpture comes in a series of metals and also a painted colorway. But the sculpture is only one of many nice pieces to be featured in the exhibition, which is currently going on at the Emmanuel Perrotin Gallery in Paris. Kanye West also attended the opening of the exhibition.
