Nike Sportswear Livestrong City Tiempo “The Cutters” Pack

nike city tiempo livestrong stages 1 540x381 Nike Sportswear Livestrong City Tiempo The Cutters Pack

Developed specifically for the Nike Sportswear LIVESTRONG Collection, the footwear design team looked at the Nike Tiempo, first launched through the Soccer category, and enhanced the shoe with key elements to work with today’s inner city bike rider. Developed in partnership with eight bike riders from around the globe, the Nike City Tiempo was constructed with a board last, a process referencing ACG’s history. The board last translates into a stiffer construction, making the pushdown of the pedal stroke easier on the rider. Throughout the construction of the shoe, the designers have increased the density of the rubber and the derometer. Inside the shoe, the sockliner has been updated to also be a bit stiffer, giving support to the foot.

The upper of the shoe mirrors the look of the original Tiempo, however has been updated with a tougher leather to last through the wear and tear the cages on the pedals may cause. The City Tiempo pack includes eight colorways inspired by the iconic yellow of LIVESTRONG.

Each color represents a different rider and their respective city. The eight riders include; Kyle Demers from New York City, Jupiter Desphy from Los Angeles, Superted from London, Takaharu “Hal” Okada from Tokyo, Yorgo Tloupas representing Paris, Berlin’s Henrik Kuerschner, Massan from San Francisco, and Lance Armstrong representing his hometown of Austin.

Here we present you the Nike Sportswear Livestrong City Tiempo line-up that you will see release this month, with the following four colorways coming later this summer.

Detailed images of the Nike Sportswear Livestrong City Tiempo follow after the jump.

Geekhouse Bikes Powder Coating Graphics

highsnobiety - Geekhouse Bikes Powder Coating Graphics
Not too long ago one would already set oneself apart by riding a fixed gear bike. These days even traditional media picked up the worldwide trend and with that, one has to find new ways to set apart ones bike. Geekhouse introduces their new powder coating graphic option.
"They’ve mastered a process that can basically take any digital image and sublimate it into a powder coated finish. This "Rockcity" frame was made for a customer who wanted a bandanna-like orange paisley design—not our first choice of graphics but dope nonetheless. It also features a matching front Deep-V rim that was also given the same patterned treatment." Via Animal.
Definitely a good idea and something many people will be making use of. The only problem with such an option is, just like with something like Nike iD, people with bad taste also get to use it. But overall definitely a nice move.
Have a more detailed look at the bike after the jump.

adidas x Marinoni Pista Crono

02 April 2008, 15.34 | Posted in Other | No comments »

adidas x marinoni pista crono bike - highsnobiety
Back in August of 2007, adidas Canada partnered with the heralded Quebec-based Marinoni to create a unique bike celebrating the opening of adidas Original’s store in Montreal. The idea was to showcase a bike that captured the fine craftsmanship that Marinoni has come to be known for and represented the athletic history of adidas. Working with designers from Breadwinner Creative, Marinoni dreamt up this beautiful, one-of-a-kind track bike full of go-fast goodies that ooze style and capture the very essence of each respective brand.
The bike was displayed at adidas Original’s launch party and instantly became the talk of the town.  Shortly after, the bike was shipped to Toronto for display in adidas’ Queen Street store and its popularity grew even wider.
As intended, the adidas x Marinoni Pista Crono was to be auctioned off to charity in early 2008 and people as far as Japan followed the bike hoping to somehow own this one-of-a-kind work of art.
Fast-forward to April 2008 and after much anticipation the adidas x Marinoni Pista Crono has been put up on the auction block.  Being deeply involved in athletics, community and charity, both Marinoni and adidas Canada agreed to auction the bike off for a good cause.   All proceeds from the winning bid will be donated to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada.
Bidding starts on April 2, 2008 (today) and will last 10 days. The auction is open to bidders worldwide. To follow this auction, please click here.
