The Bic Phone By Orange

highsnobiety - The Bic Phone By Orange
Sometimes the easiest and simplest ideas are the best. Orange France now teamed up with Bic, best known for their lighters and pens, to create the first "Ready-to-Call" cellphone. And for the first time the name actually makes sense and holds true.
Not only do you get a phone and 60 minutes of talk time included in the 49 Euro package (about 62 USD), but the phone comes pre-charged, which means that you can actually start calling right after purchase. It’s the perfect phone for tourists or when you simply run out of battery.
We also find it brilliant that Orange teamed up with Bic. Because what does Bic stand for at the end of the day? Cheap, decent quality and distributed EVERYWHERE. If they used the Bic distribution for the phone, this can be a huge success.
Also the design looks decent. We can even see the Bic phone becoming a cool accessory to have. Now it just needs to be more widely available, hopefully also outside France, and it will be a hit.
The Bic Phone is now available in the Colette online store.
More images after the jump.

HIXSEPT S/S ‘08 T-Shirt Series

02 April 2008, 19.30 | Posted in Fashion | No comments »

hixsept ss08 collection - highsnobiety
Hixsept was born in 1999, fusing the ideas of two french graffiti writters : Hëx and Hept.

Forerunners of the process consisting of adapting graffiti related items to clothes, they constantly try to mix art, graphic design and clothing. The brand itself always willing to stay on the side. One course of action: create and show. The artistic environment created around Hixsept makes it a brand with attitude, a graphical activist through urban art.
In there most recent collection they created a series of overall 10 t-shirts. They were designed around the idea of bringing a new perspective when it comes to think about the making of a tee-shirt. Hixsept diverts the basic format considering it as one of the essential piece of our wardrobe. Each model is designed and thought through down to its smallest detail, has its own identity, fights for a story and perfectly fits into the global harmony of the series.
They re-interpreted some subversive patterns, paid homage to the alternative movements as well as to 80’s HipHop and the fanzines.  Each model is released in a limited edition of 200 pieces.
One can say a lot about a t-shirt, surprisingly, because many might argue that “it’s only a t-shirt”. In the case of Hixsept one can see that a lot of work went into each piece.
Have a look at the line after the jump and you will see what we are talking about.

Costume Trois Piece
We introduce to you today a new French brand out of Paris – Costume Trois Pieces. The name describes a classic suite, consisting of jacket, pants and vest. For now the brand does not have a lot to offer, just a couple of t-shirts and hoodies. But there is something about the name that just works. They have already been picked up by Colette and a couple of other very good accounts, it will be interesting to see what the brand will be doing in the future.
After the jump a couple of more pieces by Costume Trois Pieces.
