Fred Perry celebrates its 60th anniversary in 2012. For the occasion the British brand got together with Medicom on a special edition version of their Bearbrick toy. The toy comes in a classic Fred perry look and will release early February 2012.

Two solid looking jackets have released from the Fred Perry Fall/Winter 2011 Collection. The drop includes the Lowland Parka and the Pursuit Jacket. Both feature nice leather details and check plaid linings, making them easy to wear everyday pieces, while standing out, due to their good choice of color.

This season Fred Perry is inspired largely by the enthusiasm for British country pursuits. Channeling a ‘Rambling’ theme, they’ve updated two sneaker styles with antique brass d-rings and thick outdoor laces, as well as rucksacks in nylon marl and twill. The signature Laurel Wreath is displayed prominently across the collection. All styles are available from www.fredperry.com or Fred Perry Authentic shops.

For Autumn/Winter 2011, Fred Perry Laurel Wreath has undergone a bit of a re-brand. The original 16 leaf Laurel has been removed and replaced with a 30 leaf Laurel, giving the collection a clear identity and personality: clean and sharp with an edge.The collection will keep the same clean Mod silhouette and references and production and fabrication will continue to be premium with as much of the collection made, or fabric sourced, in the UK.

Within AW11, two distinct themes dominate – texture and tartan – forming two separate capsule collections, each with a focus on the juxtaposition of fabrics and knits to create depth. The classic Fred Perry tipped shirt, Harrington style jacket, slim-fit check woven shirts, knitwear and trousers are the core styles in the range, but with premium details to set them apart.

Following on from the success of their 2009 collaboration, Fred Perry have teamed up with seminal band The Specials once again to create two new shirts that stay true to the band’s ethos of ‘Black and white unite.’

Fred Perry has produced two melton wool coats for Japanese retailer Beams for Fall/Winter 2011. A classic pea coat with big collar construction and a duffle coat come out of the collaboration, featuring premium details and red/white stripe accents. The jackets will be released at Beams locations in Japan, September 2011.

Fred Perry and UK pop artist Sir Peter Blake have teamed up to create three shirt styles that have been made and printed in England in a numbered run of 1000. The styles feature rainbow and union jack patches alongside screen printed icons such as stars, hearts and targets. Peter Blake’s signature sign-off sits on each hem and back neck label.

For Spring/Summer 2011, Fred Perry has reworked two styles from its Authentic footwear line to create a ‘Woven Stripe’ story for the warmer months ahead.

The Foxx lace-ups and Byron mid-height boot both use a preppy striped, woven cotton, offset by tan waxed shoelaces. The iconic laurel wreath is positioned discretely at the heel of the shoe.

Fred Perry has re-issued four classic shirts from their archive which document and represent four movements throughout the fifties, sixties, and seventies. All details have been closely looked at from the weight of the pique and the style of the buttons to the fabric used on the back neck label.
