Freitag Limited Art Edition Bags

Freitag Limited Art Edition Bags

Freitag is briefly stepping off the beaten track of lorry tarpaulins and is drawing inspiration from art history. With a
pinch of recycled individualism, large-size art banners have been put together to form unique creations in a new context: the FREITAG LIMITED ART EDITION.

In cooperation with the Tate Modern London, the Mori Art Museum Tokyo, Palazzo Grassi Venice and the Museum of Contemporary Art L.A., Freitag presents a unique limited art edition. Swapping truck tarps for exhibition banners from these world-leading modern art galleries, Freitag has produced one-off versions of its F52 Miami Vice shopping bag. Motifs from Picasso to Japanese contemporary art make these bags genuine rarities. Each week in August 2009, Freitag will release a collection of the museum bags online at www.freitag.ch, to buy or just to admire.

ic! Berlin x Freitag Trucker Sunglasses

ic! Berlin x Freitag Trucker Sunglasses

Freitag rarely does co-ops. But the brothers’ respect for ic! berlin’s screw-less constructions and the fact that they were given complete freedom in design was enough to make an exception. The two models «Dirty Lyle» (mirrored) and «Spider Mike» (matted) are a tribute to Sam Peckinpah’s 1978 truckin’ masterpiece «Convoy» with Kris Kristofferson.
A unique package, the Freitag edition of ic! berlin sunglasses are sold with a corresponding, unique Freitag sleeve cut from used truck tarps.

The sunglass design was developed by Daniel and Markus Freitag, inspired by seventies aviator shapes. It helps you spot that cop car when you’re driving into the sunset, it does a good job hiding your eyes and facial expressions from the nosy public if you’re famous, and it keeps the wind out of your eyes when you’re cycling (rather important, seeing Freitag bags have always been close to bike messenger circles).
