Freshjive presents the first part of their new Spring 2010 Collection, the first collection of the brand not carrying anymore a logo. The line consists of some great basics, along with solid cut-and-sew pieces, some nice accessories and of course the usual bold graphic t-shirts, that you are used to see from Freshjive. We would say, this is one of the strongest collections to come from Freshjive in some years.

After 20 years as one of the most controversial streetwear brands, Freshjive is not only denouncing their own name and branding beginning in 2010, but is altogether abandoning many of the aspects that previously classified them as a streetwear brand. They have taken full creative advantage of the versatility of debranding and have reintroduced the line combining a mix of classic and contemporary styling, with a strong focus on garment design. The t-shirt line has taken a surrealist angle, while still expressing their particular take on culture and the world at large. We like the direction for Fall 2010, a collection featuring lots of interesting cut-and-sew pieces, overall reflecting a maturing Freshjive.

Freshjive continues to make strong statements in their collections. That is once again the case with the upcoming “Hope Is Fading Fast” t-shirt, Freshjive’s first judgement on the Obama administration. What Freshjive has to say about the subject you should read here. The “Hope Is Fading Fast” t-shirt is the first un-branded product by the brand and is now available at Reserve LA and other boutiques.

The last season of Freshjive goods with the brand logo are out since this week, with all new collections, starting from Spring 2010 being un-branded. We reported about the move by Freshjive a while back.

The new collection consists of denim, jackets, hoodies, crewneck sweaters, pants and of course a good amount of bold graphic t-shirts, that are especially bold in terms of the message that they send out. That is how we know and learned to love Freshjive. The new collection is in stores now.

LA-based Freshjive have released their Fall 2009 outerwear pieces. Marking the first to last season before abandoning the Freshjive logo, we see a continuation of well thought out street style pieces. Wool and cotton herringbone jackets, fleece, and heavyweight pullover flannels are just a few of the offerings on hand. Available at selected retailers and online at the Reserve Shop.

Available this month from Freshjive are the second round of items based on classified Pentagon Black Operation patches from the recent book, “I Could Tell You but Then You Would Have to Be Destroyed by Me,” by Trevor Paglen. Two t-shirts styles -“Alone and On the Prowl” and “If I Tell You” – are now available online at Reserve as well as at select Freshjive retailers worldwide. Freshjive gives us a taste of their accessories program for Fall/Winter 2009. This high-density nylon wallet boasts the ever-popular zippered closure with leather accents and an internal coin pocket. Monochromatic colors are used for a somewhat more grown-up feel. Now in stock at Stless.

etnies Plus sent over some official images of their upcoming collaboration with seminal LA-based streetwear label Freshjive. The simple Junior mid-top sneaker was revamped in tonal black with two material choices – leather or canvas. Branding is kept to a minimum with a small Freshjive tag on the tongue. A release party takes place on Saturday, August 29th at Reserve. The photography of Herman Leonard will be on display at the release, accompanied by a performance by Joey Altruda and his Cocktail Crew.

We get a first look at an upcoming collaboration between Freshjive and etnies Plus. The two brands worked on a rather simple black leather mid top sneaker. Reserve announces an exhibition of hand lettered posters by world renowned letterer and typographer, John Downer. John has been working with Freshjive on various t-shirt designs, and the event coincides with the release of 4 more graphic t-shirts. During the evening, he will also be hand lettering anyone’s requested name tag while you watch!
